Instead of brine we would use pickle juice. That's part of the Chick-Fil-A recipe too I think. Buddy has the full recipe, I'll have to have him send it over.

I bought some pickles the other day, jar is nearly finished
going to try that instead

my 2nd attempt was better, the pickle juice hit the spot.

although, I found if kept it in the fryer for less time and then put it into an oven at 265 for 20 minutes
the skin was a better color

closest I got to KFC

although in the coating, the cloves was totally wrong, next time I'll try another rub I know which works

but pickle juice and buttermilk def. makes a difference, the meat was so juicy !
