Car Moves in Park
I have a 2011 Z435 is with a automatic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Something weird happened today with the car idling in park while I was putting air in the tires. The car would rock back and forth ever so slightly whenever I got close to the valve stem with the pressure gauge or the air hose air chuck. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas? It happened at each tire I filled.

That vehicle was not designed to remain parked. So it rocks back and forth to get a running start. HAHAHA. But seriously though, yes this is actually more common than you think.

This is my video - ended up hearing from a performance transmission place on another board to get this answered - as BMW NA had no friggin clue.
This transmission does a electronic self test where the fluid is pressurized, that's what causes the rocking - and it's considered "normal". Apparently most people set the emergency brake so they never notice it.... |
