BMW X3 E83 2004 - Dash decorative parts

Hello,

I recently got a X3 E83 3.0i manual from 2004. So far so good! The car is smooth and runs great.

However, the interior parts all around the dash are in pretty bad condition, mainly the one around the gear shift.

I'm not familiar how this plastic should go off, it's different from the other BMWs I had (e39, e46) and it doesn't come off easily. Also, there's no info around the Internet.

Anybody familiar how this can happen?
