Really enjoying my new Follow trolley, until I dumped it into a pond yesterday

Spent the rest of the day cleaning and drying the contents of my bag and today will see if the trolley still works...

Looks gorgeous out there! Very jealous!

We are about 2-3 weeks from being able to play outside. Finally it rained yesterday and 99% of the snow is gone but it's still very wet out there. Will need some time to dry and it looks like the forecast is calling for some nice sunny weather over the next few weeks.

I am hoping to have my new Mini Driver in my possession this week! Will be exciting to get that and start dialing it in!

OK I'll bite. What is a mini driver? Mine doesn't go far enough as it is.

Here you go! It has a smaller head and is a fairway finder for tight fairways! I am ditching my Qi10 driver and rocking this as my sole driver as I can hit it like my woods and not a lone driver! Which I struggle with!

I was averaging about 270 - 280 yards with this driver with a basic extra stiff shaft. I am getting the same shaft that is in my 3 wood in this thing and I am hoping to be around the 270-290 mark!

Somedays I hate handicaps in league... My winter league handicap is 1 under and yesterday I played a guy who's handicap is 11 over.. so we zero out handicaps and I'm now even par and I have to give him 12 strokes.... then he miraculously has the round of his life time against me and shoots 4 under and I shot 1 under and got destroyed...

I don't see how any legitimate 11 handicap can shoot 4 under par. I mean if you are talking about gross 4 under. Sounds like a dodgy handicap.

I'm in an indoor golf league too and I bet there is some sort of sandbaggin going on a well. I don't know how a team can get the max points every single week. Not a clue.

But it sounds like that guy had a few shitty rounds on purpose so he will be able to get those extra strokes on you.

Golf club update:

Still waiting on my TaylorMade R7 Mini Driver to ship. It's been almost 3 full weeks. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me as everything is in stock to build.

Decided to purchase a new 5 iron of my Ping G440 set. Didn't come with the 5i. I am hitting my 5 Hybrid the same numbers as my 7 wood and had to loft my 7 wood lower to get any sort of separation from the two, which I don't like and wasn't the purpose of getting the 7 wood. So, I am going to sell my Taylormade Qi35 5 hybrid Rescue and get the 5i which I hit around 190-195 mark and that is perfect!

Going to get a Qi35 5 wood to complete my woods. I have a 3 wood and a 7 wood. I hit the 5 wood yesterday and it fits perfectly in my yardage gap of 220-235. 3 wood is consistently around 240-255 and 7 wood is around 200-215.

Hopefully the bag will be complete for years to come! lol!

Toying with the idea to put a dedicated outdoor hitting spot. Looking to make a 12ft x 8ft pad for the turf and for the net then get a Garmin R10 launch monitor. I have an outdoor net and turf mat but I need I need to find something thicker and made for outside. I plan on building an 8ft wall to have the tv mounted and a shelf for the ipad. But that will be a project over the course of the season. I figured, if I spend $40 - $60 per bay rental...all of this will pay for it's self pretty quickly. My goal is to make it very easy to set up and take down.

Posting season in Washington starts this Sunday🤪
So I'm playing my last "practice" round of 2026 on Saturday.
Shit gets real on Sunday.
Should be good spring weather - dry and 57 degrees.

Goodluck! Funny enough, I am playing my first round outdoors today too. Have fun tomorrow! Will be interesting to see how I play after hitting on a sim for the past 3 months.

Mini Driver still hasn't shipped from TaylorMade yet, which is a bummer. Wanted to have it for today. Maybe next time.

All of the courses here in Cincinnati are booked solid! Was able to snag the last tee time in the morning at a nice country club for 10:39am ET.

First real nice 2-3 day stretch of weather until tomorrow when it will be cold and 40s. Today they are calling for 65 and sunny blue skies!

Beautiful spot and course. I am in Florida and we had a 36 hole inexpensive muni where I used to live. My favorite thing was to go out late in summer with a push cart. The range master guys in carts did not mind if I stayed out as they were closing out.

Enjoyed the sunsets with water birds, ducks, turtles, birds, even raccoons and an occasional fox. I prefer playing by myself. I almost enjoy the experience being out there as much as playing golf. Every once and while you might hit a good shot which makes it better.

We have a nice modestly priced course nearby that has lots of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks and other animals with some water. Golf is great.

Played yesterday at Legendary Run Golf Course https://www.legendaryrungolf.com/ and shot the best I have ever scored. I ended up with an 89. First time breaking 90 and it could have been in the low 80s. Had one crappy hole and several 3 putts.

I definitely need to get my driving game dialed in pronto! My approach shots really got me out of some trouble and I was very pleased playing with my new irons. First time using them out on the course other than an indoor golf sim.

Not entirely sure what is going on with my drives. I could usually hit my 3 wood to perfection every time I swung it but I mainly used it as my driver yesterday and wasn't doing so hot. I need to get that swing down, especially when the new Mini Driver comes..hopefully this week.

I need lessons if I want to break 85 this year and really do some great things.

Hope everyone was able to get out and play this weekend!

Mini Driver is scheduled to get delivered today! Can't wait! Been almost a month!

Update:

Mini driver got delivered and it looks amazing! Haven't had the time to hit it yet. Shit..the head is still in the wrapper. I have a hitting lesson tomorrow at 11am ET - 12pm ET and will use it then. Pretty excited to hit it and to talk to a pro about what is going on with my swing.

I found a great deal on a TaylorMade Qi35 5 Wood Tour gently used with stiff shaft on ebay and ordered it. I have 30 days to inspect and take a look at it before I can't return it. So I will check it out once it gets delivered this week. I was going to wait until after my lesson tomorrow to see if I need to buy one but the price was too good to pass up and didn't want to lose out on it!

Recent independent driver and fairway fitting and went all out

Just received the driver, a Taylor~made Qi4D core with bright green Accra shaft, but the best is yet to come, with Qi4D core fairways (4/6/9 wood) with AutoFlex shafts in rainbow colourway - on back order, looking like next week...

That looks super minty! How did you like hitting the new Qi4D lineup? Does TM make a 4 and 6 wood? Or did you adjust the loft settings?

Looking forward to a review on everything once you have played a few rounds.

The TM was a head I really wanted to try, but the fitter wanted to get me into a Ping (current is Titleist GT2) and early results suggested he was correct. After working hard on shafts, he felt I would work well with the Core head and it was 'perfect'. I didn't try the other options, as LS is not for me and I prefer a smaller profile, so the Max was out.

Essentially, he was looking to fit me into a heavier head than I was using, which leaned towards Ping and TM. You can feel the difference immediately.

I should have stated, the woods are 3HL (16.5 deg), so a 4 wood and 7, set down to a 6 (20.25). Added to a standard 9 wood loft (24), the gapping worked best.

Replaced my driver, 15 deg 3 wood, 18 deg 5 wood and a 21 deg hybrid.

Still await the fairways, but will report back soon.

I am glad you stood your ground on what you wanted and were able to figure out a way to make it happen! I feel a fitting should take as long as possible to where you feel like the club can be a game changer and feels natural. I don't want to have a fitting and the guy wants to put me into something specific over and over because that is what he is comfortable with. Hope that makes sense.

That is what I thought. Adjusting the lofts. I do that every now and then on my woods. I have my new TaylorMade R7 Mini Driver lofted down to 9.5* from the standard 11.5*.

Love the build though!

To be fair, the fitter was right in his initial view after testing my current driver, but as soon as we nailed the correct shaft, a try in the TM (he made the move) and it improved again.

Great fitting experience.

That is great to hear! Sorry for my comments as I have had some bad fitting experiences.

I went to a fitter back in January to see if the Mitsubishi shafts are the right move and he thinks so but I am not so sure.

I just got back from getting a swing lesson and let me tell you, my eyes opened up big time on what is needed to happen to make a nice smooth swing. We made minor tweaks and wow, very impressed.

Once I work on my swing more and get a better feeling, I am going to do my research on who is one of the best fitters here locally to see if the Mitsubishi shafts are the move for me or do I need to go with a different brand.

Happy that it worked out for you!

My honest feedback is to let the fitter fit shafts as importantly as head etc. My fitter even changed to my grip when we got down to the last few.

I've had Mitsubishi in my last few sets and found them great, but changed this time.

I feel like I see a lot more people using other shafts than Mitsubishi. I really want to get into the Fujikura but don't want to pay it! lol

I get back to America on the 17th and excited to book a fitting at PXG for new clubs.

Kinda sad when I see my club head speed but age takes a toll.
