I saw this at the IAA Frankfurt Auto Show... I think its pretty cool that Audi is doing this project. Thought I'd share.

It would be really cool if the Audi team or some other team do send a rover to some of the Apollo missons sites on the Moon.

Imagine one of these rovers rolling up to one of these sites with a livestream video feed to Earth to look at all the left over equipment from the Apollo missions like the Lunar moon rovers and the American flag and the all other stuff.

That would be super cool.
Plus that would be evidence to the skeptics who thinks the moon landings never took place.

I wonder if this project will survive or be abandoned. The new VW CEO spoke about eliminating all non-essential projects (presumably across all group brands) and this could easily be one of them.

I don't think this project is costing Audi any real money. I think its more like volunteer work on the part of the engineers and Audi AG donating some small materials for the "team effort".

VW cancelled their purchase of Red Bull Racing's F1 team at the 11th hour. Dieselgate is gonna be a very costly mistake for VAG.

I dont get why everyone here is so salty with audi. Their awd systems are have a rear wheel split more than a front biased (except haldex which is now has a more rear wheel bias). My audi RS6 was perfect no rattles and no problems, my newly bought m3 not so much, its rattling from the roof, trim, etc.
