Driver's side inside bottom of windshield-what's this foam thing?

It's sticking out a bit and wonder if you guys have it? Do you just push it in to not have it showing or just left it?

Had the same thing sticking out by the VIN on mine too. I just poked it back down. I'm thinking it is just a bit of foam to help the windshield stop from rattling?

It pokes outta sight easily? Didn't wanna move it yet as no idea why they didn't have it hidden.
