Greetings. I have been trying to figure out how to bluetooth connect my phone for music. A few year back I purchased a Bovee adapter for a 2010 Mercedes I owned, and it worked for music. On the Z4 the Bluetooth is connected for phone but not music.
Can someone identify what this connector is for? Thank you! Cheers. |

Its out of focus ..your's is the only Z4 I've seen with a 6 pack cd player..
If you didn't have media support then your bluetooth will only ever do phone calls.. There was a USB port in the glovebox to load maps and music to the idrive bu that doesnt look USB and a bit aftermarket..I assume you have no USB socket in the central armrest space?..and aux connector there?

That's where you can put the cupholder that slots into the passenger side of the center console when it's not in use.

As for the media streaming, here's the ViseeO (same as Bovee) for the E89 (alas this is a UK link, but they are still available)...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TFIPX...v_ov_lig_dp_it This will give you music streaming, in conjunction with your current bluetooth calls And as above, you can store the transmission tunnel cup holder in this slot when you don't want it installed. When you remove it from the tunnel side a flap springs down to cover the hole. You then just push the base into this slot in the glovebox And same here, I've never seen an E89 that actually has the multichanger installed. Just incase you didn't know, the CDC/MDC swings upwards and clips into a receiver to keep it out of the way for better use of the glovebox storage

My car has the drop down CD changer. Only way I found it was trying to find out why the owners manual doesn't fit in the glove box.

Thanks for you comments. Brilliant that the designers would have a spot in the glove compartment to store the cup holder!
I ordered the bovee adapter last night on Amazon, it arrived today. Plugged both the USB and mini connectors at the back of the center console. Bluetoothed the phone to the bovee, connected and working!! Automatically connects the phone for calls and music. Crystal clear. I'm a happy man. |
