What is the relationship between these two things?

The pen shaft is the rewinder...after you use the softer plastic cap to smooth out your wrinkled or folded tape.

Everybody knows you write on cassette labels with a pencil (to change later) or a felt tip pen (the keepers).

PS: I don't know if that pen existed when tapes were in use. I remember we looked for Bic pens.

I was aware of the solution, but the best one I saw was some dude driving past our downtown store with his "spaghetti" 8-track tape slammed in the righthand door of his car, dragging the plastic cartridge on the pavement. We had 3 AM radio stations when I was a kid. One popular station had an opinion/comment show every afternoon where you could call in and voice your opinion regarding local issues. The interesting thing was, there was no recorded delay system - callers voices went out over the airwaves instantly.

Yeah, I remember listening to these AM stations, to hear the latest in music. Later on, these same hits would become "oldies."
