Remote Software Upgrade?

I've had a couple of cars (440i, X5, etc) that show the option to do a Remote Software Upgrade via the BMW Connected app but don't think I've ever seen an available upgrade.

I'm wondering now because my new G05 X5 is a buggy mess and I'm hoping I'll be able to upgrade remotely vs. bring the car back to the dealer.

Does BMW actually use this option to upgrade cars? Has anyone ever seen and completed an update via the app?

The only thing that I have seen is map upgrades for NAVIGATION over the air.

Hmmm. So, most updates are still dealer provided or just don't exist. Given the troubles with my new car, that is discouraging.
