Also, I really don't get that interior. The wooden coffee table armrest up front. The "it puts the lotion on it's skin" front seat fabric. The slab of granite rear seats. It's all very confusing and not in a "it's wild but really cool looking" way.
I'm also really not a fan of the Tesla 3's "lets replace the whole dash by slapping an iPad in the middle" approach so the "let's slap a whole TV in the middle of the dash" approach is even worse. One of the things I like about BMWs is that they, up until recently, have honest to gods gauges and switches. (Even if it keeps getting them called "boring" in reviews.) |

Adding to your point... check out the flat and unremarkable door cards, the schizophrenically conflicting angles of the dashboard, the two mismatched sharp-cornered screens, the austere 'Hello Kitty' seating...
Stylish George Jetson would be appalled. If this is the future, just kill me now.* ____________________ *Luckily, Audi, Porsche, M-B, and Jaguar have not lost their senses. They will lead us to the Promised Land.

Will all electric car motors essentially feel the same? Each petrol engine just about have their own unique personality, especially between different brands. For example, BMW's inline-6 feels nothing like Audi's V6. Or will you be able to distinguish an Audi from a BMW or Mercedes purely by how the electric motor feels? It seems like the differences will purely be in the chassis dynamics and drivetrain(awd systems).

my guess is different brands will have different low end vs top end characteristics. also, it's gonna be a clash of expertise and engineering to see who can produce an EV with consistent track performance. rightnow no brand has cracked that. |

Surprised no one has mentioned the floating C pillar treatment, which has to be the most banal design element in use today. That BMW would choose to ape it on this concept is a very sad commentary on their design "followship". Whoever approved this should be ashamed.

And it is tall and takes up the front of the fascia with the plate holding in the middle. It's like the gaping jaws of a great white shark. Low snout with strong bonnet strafes. Side Gills. And muscular definition at the front and rear arches similar to the haunches of the 8. And a tapered strong dynamic roof line. It's a completely Individual design.

the rear seat fabric looks like a public transit cloth, designed to hide stains...looks really really bad. the more i look at the pictures, the worse it is.

I think that's the optional dog protection package.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Probably because everyone's turned their heads in disgust with the front end, so their eyes never make it to the rear of this monstrosity.

I think Scott commented on the 4 series on the transporter truck saying the kidneys would be taller and less wide to where the license plate will fit in the middle of the kidneys.

i love the futuristic design that's so popular for the past 10 years among all car manufacturers, yet it's not a practical one.

They're still bitching about the X5's larger kidneys. Will all be doom and gloom until they start hitting the lots and most people will come around to it I'm sure.
