Wheel lock bolts

Had new tires mounted today and idiot tech who did install used pneumatic wrench instead of torque wrench to tighten wheel bolts. It wasn't until I got home and was installing duct tape over the wheel weights that I noticed the right rear wheel lock bolt didn't look right. The internal splines looked partially stripped. When i tried wheel lock it wouldn't go in. How do you remove stripped wheel lock bolt?

Back in my younger days I used to use an old socket (one that you would probably not want anymore because it may become useless), make sure it is a smaller size than the lock and bang it on with a hammer so its nice and tight. The teeth will grab/dig into the lock and should be able to grip it enough for you to get it off.

I'd take it back to the shop before trying any more. Demand they fix it and pay for a new set of lock bolts.

I did exactly what you suggested. They said to buy a new lock kit and they would reimburse me for kit and remove the stripped one. I'm trying to figure out they are going to do it.

Do what I did and just get rid of those wheel locks, they are a pita and if not some stupid tech messing them up, they will loosen over time and fail inevitably.
