Originality

Strange to claim such trivial things like helmet color and working on the W13 colors during preseason since it looks like he duped Rossi #46 in the W11 (no halo). No doubt, Rossi (#46) had originality.

No bottas, no paid friends.

Imola driver parade, notice a group of huddled umbrellas joking and talking. Even Alonso is cracking a smile. The camera pans around to Lewis alone in the corner.

Go figure the economics of F1. Assume roughly a combined 350,000 fans show up from South America and North America (link below from Austin GP headcount). Assume an average ticket cost of $300 (just a wild guess by me). Then we get 350,000 X $300 = $105,000,000 ($105M). The cost of hosting an F1 event was estimated in 2017 by Forbes to be $1B (link below). Given the costs to build the temporary circuit, surely the organizers are losing money? Perhaps my math is wrong because Jalopnik (I hate that site) said back in 2021 some tickets are costing thousands of dollars.. But at $1000 a ticket X 350,000 people still equates to way less than $1B.

Partially agree. BUT they must have a heckuva lot of dosh to spare too because it's a nine year deal with F1. The combined market caps of ALL cryptos is roughly equal to the market cap of Microsoft. And yet Crypto.com only have a small slice of the crypto market place pie. As of April 2022 Microsoft has a market cap of $2.025 Trillion. Crypto.com is an exchange and not traded publicly as far as I know. So a nine year sponsorship deal with F1 must be a major (huge) chunk of capital for them IMO.

https://crypto.com/company-news/cryp...ami-grand-prix

As a data point, consider the market cap of another exchange = Coinbase.com (ETF ticker = COIN) is 'only' $24B vs. the estimated cost to host an F1 race of $1B. Based on the virtual tour video, this has to be the most opulent 'temporary' circuit ever built.
PS:
If you own crypto never keep it on the exchange. Send it off the exchange into a hot wallet or cold wallet storage such as paper wallet.
Here's a a google maps image of what the stadium parking lot was like before its F1 GP transformation.

Temp circuits are the cheap way out. Building a permanent circuit is very costly to build and maintain through the years. COTA has had financial problems since it has been open. Miami GP temp circuit just goes back to being Stadium parking lot when not in use. No infrastructure to keep running year round.

Main thing your are leaving out is sponsorship money. There is also revenue from merchandise sales, concession stands, parking. Think how many $12 beers they sell. The average tickets are above $300 as well. Cheapest GA tickets right now are $400+. Paddock club tickets are going for over $10k.

Crypto.com is not the only sponsor. Every banner or advertisement you see around the track cost money. Pepsi or Coke will pay big money to be official soft drink for race weekend. Some beer company will pay to be the official beer of Miami GP. Everything adds up. With current inflation, they will be racking in the money.

Link to all the sponsors of Miami GP. Crypto, JP Morgan, AutoNation, GainBridge, Red Bull, etc. These are multi year big money contracts. This race would not exist without these sponsorship contracts in place first.

They just signed a 700mill contract for naming rights of Staples Center in LA. They apparently have money to burn.

I wouldn't put it pass the Saudi's to have spent a lot more money on their temporary Jeddah circuit. That thing is a spectacle at night. Never underestimate oil money.

Wait you mean suspension/wishbone linkage? The drive shaft can't be seen as it's connected internally to the diff.
