Activating options by coding
Hi all,
Read a lot about the iCarly app and have a question. MY car has not got auto dip headlights. I know that they are activated by a sensor on the front of the rear view mirror. My mirror has a rectangular recess on the front side that I presume is the sensor. Do you think I could activate this function in coding? My car is 2009 23i E89 ![]() |

Go to the Carly website and search for coding possibilities for the E89

No. It requires a different mirror.
Also, the carly app is changing settings for existing options on the car. It does not retrofit new options that get installed. That requires a change to the VO to recognize a new module then coding for that module and any others that interacts with it. That rectangular recess in your mirror is the rain and light sensor. It is used for rain sensing wipers, headlights on at dusk, auto dimming mirrors (maybe). The auto dip headlights requires a mirror that actually has a camera in it - not just a simple light sensor.
