E89 Boot Lid Catch Stuck

As it says in the title, the boot lid catch on the left hand side is closed. We don't have a ski flap, and the storage tray lid is up, so we can't open the roof to get access. I think this might be a loose wire to the catch, does anyone know if it's possible to override the roof tray check so we can get the roof starting to open and therefor get access to the wiring?

Local garage quoted 250gbp just to look
