Have been a member for a while.. but never posted to the noobs section and probably should...
I grew up with my father's Z3 (1998 2.8L Dakar Yellow Special Edition). That was handed down to me a few years ago... I enjoyed it for a while and then parted with it to upgrade to a 2000 Z3 M Roadster (Black with red/black interior and red top). Finally Summer 2018, I finally pulled the trigger and upgraded to a Z4. My criteria were pretty strict... I wanted a 35i 6MT with MSport Package, Cold Weather Package, and Technology/Navigation package. I was also hoping for a post LCI model... which restricted me to 2014, last year of the 6MT on the 35i. That last piece of the puzzle proved to be too restrictive... so I finally made my move when I found a late MY2013 with everything I wanted, in a color combo I like. I then retrofitted the headlights and side-markers... getting pretty close to a post-LCI Z4. I'm not much of a performance nut.. but I did have the Dinan Stage 3 installed (it was on sale). Aside from that my upgrades include: -UniChip CarPlay system with Back Up Camera -Swapped the cigarette lighter tray for a sunglasses holder -Swapped out the cupholder/phone tray for a large oddments tray -Retrofitted the headlights and side-markers -"Custom-made" an illuminated shift knob using the base of the stock knob and an M-Performance knob I missed having the illuminated knob like my Z3M had. Yes, I know where the gears are.. but it's fun to look at at night rather than just empty black space. Anyways.. glad to be here. These are fun forums with some great Zs! |

Noobs
Hello all
Richard Bertagna 2011 3.0 6 cyl, red, white interior, 6 speed manual, cold weather package, premium pkg, wood trim. In 2010 I traded in my 07 Z4 for a new Z4 that I special ordered. I finally picked up my 2011 Z4 in June 2010. It is a everyday driver and I currently have 60K miles on it. I have replaced the rear brakes twice ( $400 each time), they seem to only last about 25 K miles. I have not replaced the front brakes yet. I do the light maintenance like changing oil myself, twice a year. I had the battery replaced at year 6, cost $300 at the local BMW dealer. I like the run flats tires. The first year I had the car I was on the highway going 75 mph in a rain storm and I heard a pop and hiss. The tire light came on and I slowed to 50 mph. If it had not been for the flat tire light coming on I would not have thought I had a flat. Back home I found a 2 inch piece of iron had pierced the sidewall. I drove on that tire for a week waiting for a replacement tire. I do have a question for the group. I remove the air filter box on changing the air filter. I find it a lot easier to do it that way. Anyway I noticed a second filter inside the air box that does not seem to be replaceable. Has anyone else noticed this, and why it is there? |

Hi all, new to the forum but have had a Z4 for a couple of years now: 2014 E89 s28i Black on Red interior in MT. Love the car very much! Mostly stock, with some minor tweaks including an AC tune.

Hello everyone, from Chattanooga Tennessee. Hope all is well. Glad to be here. I joined several months ago, but haven't been on here much, and don't believe I've posted anything yet. Here are a few quick pics of my 2011 Z4 sDrive35i.

Hi there from Pittsburgh
Hi all.
I'm currently looking to join the group of owners. I'm looking for a 35is. It's been a challenge. Twice I've got to a place literally a day after they were sold after sitting for months. Dave |

New member greetings!
Hello,
I just joined the group. I purchased my 2013 BMW Z4 Sdrive35is on November 16, 2012 The car was manufactured in July 2012. I've really enjoyed the car over the years and am now looking for a little more performance out of it. After all I really don't want to get smoked by a KIA now do I... lol so, that's why I'm here. I'll be nosing around when I have time. I own a business called SKIPS DEFENSE SOLUTIONS LLC and have an eCommerce website for civilians at www.skipsdefensesolutions.com Since I am a type 11 FFL dealer with a FEL and NFA firearms importer status I do governments, militaries, law enforcement and civilian contracts. Once again, Hello! I hope to find a lot of information on this website. Thanks! |
