2009 Z in Tacoma
I just bought this 2009 Z4 3.01i with 32,500 miles less than two weeks ago. This car is almost showroom new and flawless. It's an E89 with 225/45R17 wheels and an automatic 6 speed trans. Color is Tiefseeblau Metallic with Kansas/Canberrabeige upholstery.
From what I can gather it spent all of its life in Connecticut and somehow made it to the Seattle market in February which is where I found it. It is completely stock with both the premium and sport packages. So far the only thing I have done is replace the trunk roundel as it was faded. Z's are as rare as hen's teeth around Puget Sound. I have only seen one other gray Bangle Z in the area and virtually none for sale in the entire state of Washington. Anyway, glad I found this forum. I have already learned quite a bit and I have only gone a little more than half way through all the posts. Capt GH |

Hello!
Hello all,
I've been in BMWs for about 10 years now. I used to have an 840ci that I did all sorts of stuff too as my first project car (talk about starting off in the deep end of the pool.... hahaha). Had a ton of fun with it but it was getting old and I felt that it was time to move on. I miss that thing (sounded incredible with my custom exhaust) and will likely get another one down the road, but.... I've always been into the Z cars. Last summer, I found an amazing deal on a single owner, well maintained 35is that was ordered EXACTLY the way I would order mine from the factory. It was a deal I couldn't resist and I jumped on it. What an AWESOME car. It literally is the perfect car for me in sunny Los Angeles. Love the hardtop convertible, exotic cab-backward design, thrilling power, and the balance of luxury vs performance. It was bone stock when I got it. Since then I installed a Wagner FMIC, ER CP, Tial BOV, and the ESS Stage II ecu flash. I've also done a few other small things like the later side-marker lights, Michelin Pilot 4s tires, shorty antenna, and recently had the car ceramic coated. Here's a few crappy cellphone pics. The old 840:

New to the forum but not new to Z4's. Had a gorgeous 2004 Sterling Grey Z4 that I just loved. Sold it in 2008 to get into a 335i convertible. Well I could hear the Z4 calling me at night and asking to come back to the fun side. It really was just a matter of time before I came back. Spent the last 6 months looking for the right Z4. Well last week I finally found it. New to me a 2011 Orion Silver Z4 3.0i manual. Yep still a thrill and a blast like no other. Looking for to participating in this forum.

New to the Forum, Been a Fan of the Z4 for many years now, Finally purchased the Spec I wanted recently, Here's a few photo's of My 2011 BMW sDrive 35iS in Deep Sea Blue, I've only had 2 Days driving her so far but luckily had amazing weather to take the top down. Absolutely love the sound of the 35iS & The Exhaust in Sport mode Just makes the purchase fully worth it.

BMW hater here, but I've come over to the dark side. I have spent my life trying hard to NOT buy a BMW like all the rest of my friends. I drove BMW knock-off sports sedans like an early Lincoln LS and numerous Cadillac CTS's, including 2 CTS-V's. Still embargoing BMW as of last year, I now daily drive a Ghibli SQ4.
However, I wanted a "toy car" for weekend fun and I insisted it have a manual transmission. I was thinking a FIAT 124, because I drove the original in my high school years and always had a soft spot for that car. I was seriously looking at a used Abarth version or maybe a basic Classico version that I would spend some money on customizing. The problem is that I am over six feet and the Miata/Fiata was not made for the likes of me. Then, I was doing a cars.com search for body style "convertible" with manual transmission, and this CPO Z4 beauty popped up in my price range. It was in my favorite color (black), and it was on sale just around the block. I drove it and loved it, in spite of the fact that it was a BMW. It was so much more substantial than the Abarth in most every way. Happy so far. 35 years later I still think the double bubble hood on the 78 FIAT makes a better picture though. Hi dudes.
I'm a french snail and frog eater. BMW fanatic, got an E46 318is, then an E36 325 TDS, and an E36 320i prepared for track only. Now i'm getting a little bit more serious: i bought a 2011 E89 sDrive 23i (manual transmission). I don't feel confident with the car yet, about this so long hood while parking, and this transmission that is notchy compared to my previous cars... Can't heel toe it correctly, i suspect the CDV that i may remove soon... But i have the car since a week, and i start to adapt quickly! I need to know alot more about all technicals stuff on it now, that's why i'm here! |

Hi, I'm Laine and my husband and I just bought a 2014 sDrive 35i with the M-Sport package and less than 14k miles on it! We live in the Bay Area and the car is in SoCal, so flying down on Friday night and driving it home this weekend (it passed the PPI with flying colors).
First-time Z4 owner, though we have an i3 that my husband uses for his commute. Since we don't yet have the car, photos are from the listing. Just wanted to say hi. I have some questions around an extended warranty, but will post as a separate thread. Last edited by laine_bmw; 08-02-2018 at 11:13 AM.. |

Wife wasn't happy with her 2nd SLK350 so she started shopping. We had a road trip planned for Saturday with the first Z4 two hours up I75, then Tampa, then Orlando, .... but decided to stop by the local BMW dealer 10 minutes away who only had a Z3 listed, and there it was. Previous owner was driving through the lot at the time, stopped as we were walking over to it and said "it's a good one, traded it in because I don't drive it enough" Less than 25,000 miles, dealer maintained, new tires all around, not a scratch or rock chip on it. Easy decision on her part.

Hi All
New to forum and have a general question. I have a 14 e89 35i. when I open the drivers door first thing in the morning the car makes a sound, similar to a cerbo closing a vent or lowering an antenna. Lasts about 5 seconds and sounds like its coming from under the glove box.... and idea what this is. it only happens once, and again, usually after sitting for a while. Thanks |

I would have loved a color like blue or orange, but if we had to go with a boring color (white, silver, black), white was our first choice. My husband wanted the red interior. I wanted the tan. We ended up with black. We did get the wood trim, which we both wanted. I like to drive like I stole it. Got it up to 120mph on a freeway here before I panicked. Just got Stage 1 and considering Stage 2 or maybe an exhaust update. Doing some research now. Put in the Euro center console tray and swapped out the run-flats for Michelin Pilot 4s tires. That alone made it feel like a different car. Hope that helps!

hi all
hello all. my name is Tad and I joined last week.
I'm from Canberra Australia and bought my 2014ym z4 28i auto 2 weeks ago. I really wanted a manual but couldn't find one I liked so here I am I'm 50ish and this is my 5th BMW. I really do like them. not perfect cars but on balance, they are right for me. I currently own a 2016 M4 and just wanted my first convertible! The z4 has good paint and interior. looks like zero options but I'm ok with that - I think 58,000 kms. I think it's got noisy diff issue but still investigating (disappointing I didn't pick it on test drive. too excited!) I just love the way the z4 looks. hoping to learn from people with z4 experience and share where I can. |

Hi .. new to BMW’s and have recently bought this 2011 Z4 35i MSport here in the UK. I’d been looking for a small convertible that I can use as a daily driver and this is perfect. I tend to get my hands dirty doing as much maintenance as possible so hoping this forum will be a good source of knowledge and exchanging ideas.

Hi all, just bought an '09 23i as my first car, originally came with black interior but I thought that was far too dull (and I wanted a white car with red leather to begin with) so I had the interior redone!
