Hey...those look like my boots!

Plus looking at the background...those screens are one of the things I do for a living. I program DCS's, PLC's, and HMI's like the pic you posted in a chemical plant.

I only did 4 plates a few times on Flat Bench, and that was about 5 years ago when I was weighing almost 220lbs. 415 was the biggest 1RM I ever hit and it was a "touch and go" with no pause. Recently I have hit 365 on flat bench. First time I tried it and it buried me.

I think I have some type of mental block that happens. With 3 plates I'm fine....when I go to adding to it...even 10lbs feels like I added 50lbs!

With the Incline the other day...I was at 3 plates and a 10lb plate on each side...touch and go also.

Big weight is just as much a mental game as physical. You really have to condition your mind that you can do it.

Back in college I had a Strength and Conditioning coach that would cover up the weights with sheets. We wouldn’t know exactly what was on the bar. He said just move the damn thing. It removed the mental block of seeing your nemesis in terms of weight plateaus.

It actually worked, got me past multiple plateaus on various movements.

I may have to try that. Just tell my partner to load the bar up...and not look at it.

But he does have a sadistic side to him.... plus he is much stronger than me.

Oh well...as long as he can get it off of me

Have been having terrible pinching/dull/tight pain when in a low squat position on my left hip, started within the last month and hasnt dissipated. My workouts didn't really change, only thing I can think of is I started golfing a lot. Prior to this my left hip has always been stellar.

Found some movements in the video below that I am going to try out. Affecting my leg days so really hoping it works. If anyone else has any recommendations I am all ears. I don't really want to take a week or so off it, but I will if needed >

I'll never do the man bun shit, but my hair is at the longest it has ever been. When I run I do use a skinny nike headband to keep my hair out of my eyes. Hopefully this doesn't look as douchy haha, the girl likes the hair so I gotta do what I gotta do.

I have to loosen my hip area for about 15-20 minutes before training. Hip tightness is common in males, especially if you sit a lot.

Try looking up Kelly Starrett, he is a mobility and movement guru. I use a lot of his stretches and techniques for mobilizing certain areas. Mostly hips and shoulders.

If your hips are tight I suggest working on the big 3....Psoas, piriformis, and IT band. There are a ton of muscles that attach on the hip. But those 3 for me relieved my knee, hip and low back pain.

This right here. Look up Psoas stretching exercises online. Once your Psoas gets tight, it takes a little while to loosen it back up. But once you do...it's minimal maintenance.

Also you can use a foam roller if you have one for your IT Band....but back before they became popular I used to take a 3" Paint Roller and stick a "medium nap" roller brush on it.

I would then use it to roll-out my IT Bands. I still prefer it today over the foam roller as I can apply as much or as little pressure as I want.

Don't know about the Man Bun....but we had some guy in there this morning who was wearing a white shirt that had cut off long sleeves.

I didn't think anything about it until he started doing Overhead Dumbbell Presses. Looked like someone had took a crap down his entire underarms.

I wanted to ask him if he had ever heard of bleach? Once he lifted his arms overhead...every girl in the back room cleared out within 2 minutes!

I see them a lot too, and have considered since one of my ultimate "running" goals is to be able to do it at the cabin (7000') I typically run at somewhere around 50, when I get to the top of the overpass.

I remember being impressed that "Golden Boy" de la Hoya did all his training at a location in Big Bear, somewhere north of 7000'

I haven't, but I judge the hell out of people when I see them wearing them. Not on purpose, just a subconscious judgement.

In all seriousness, those wearing them are usually not pushing themselves hard enough to warrant the need to wear those things.

I have heard that it is supposed to simulate training at altitude, but that all it really does is limit your air intake, which is not good when you are training

If you want to train at altitude, it is best to do that naturally

But not by using a device.

Each to their own, I don’t judge people that use em

Waiting to see someone at my gym using one.....and then see how fast the trend grows.

Then I will sit back and wait to see who is the first one to fall out!

First time in a while I spent the night swimming
This is most definitely anaerobic exercise, at least for me. I struggle 25 yards at a time trying to hold my breath thru 4 strokes. I'm still considering getting a snorkel.

Flapping my tongue doesn't take nearly as much O2 as moving my whale thru water
