When my Grandmother passed, we found out that even tho she lived a modest life, nothing really fancy, she used to give a lot of her own money to various charities when she was alive, i mean a lot.

She used to cook at homeless shelters, volunteered.

She never really talked about it or advertised.

I know in your previous posts you portray America as the worst place in the world, people are selfish etc. But most Americans are decent and good.

For the first time we placed second, the last previous were 1st. The USA was first in giving..Finland placed 31st.

Or, I just assumed you meant one should hang out with their own socio economical group because of resources... I think that even is a horrible thing, but so much better than classifying lets say refugees as second class citizens. Sorry, the assumption was nasty of me.

We don't give a lot because of our high taxes and us already having social security that covers almost everything. We also don't get any tax reliefs from it.

I see this one girl almost daily. She lost her kids after her mental breakdown, she's been kicked around by the system and by others citizens so much she has completely given up. People yell at her because she made a nice sign instead of just a piece of cardboard to keep in her hand and nobody stops to ask her if she needs anything. She makes about 15 bucks per day because she isn't well enough to walk to the good shops. Ive also seen mostly Americans goofing around and donating a ton of goats to those in need.

Ive learned I get a lot is peoples old jackets and shoes via car people. It saves me a ton so yes, hell yes I tell others what I do. I love the idea of recycling while juggling this thing. I've also made many valuable contacts via this place who have helped me a lot with the projects. And most of the times, when life here gets too serious, I read your posts and smile again. Sooo worth it I'd say.

Anyway, back to sleep for me now. I know your grandma's good will towards others made you ge giving and kind man you are today. World could use more people like she was and I'm sorry for your loss.
