I feel your pain. My gf closed the garage door on my then newly purchased Z4M. I had the car for 1 day and damaged the rear spoiler (fresh 1 week old paint).

In the end it's just a car but she no longer gets to hold garage door remote. LOL

This is why I block the sensors if I need to turtle the car out the garage door.

Sounds like a keeper to me!

Like others have said, just get it fixed and move on. You wont give it a second thought.

I popped my foot off the clutch with my car idling in the garage, thinking i had it in neutral. Nope, it was in 1st gear. Launched myself into my big rolling tool chest and welding cart. Oops.

Did more damage to the wall I pushed my welding cart through. It left a little ding in the front bumper. I elected not to repair it as a reminder to myself to be more careful, and that the car is no longer perfect so stop obsessing over every little paint chip and scratch.

This is an excellent idea which I will definitely be doing from now on

Yea you're right. And I do know this. I guess it was just initial frustration and stress. I had only just finished fixing up the body and window seals on the car 4 months ago. It was just bad luck with bad timing. But it's an easy fix for it all. Definitely got off easy, especially seeing some of the horror stories others have posted on here

Its never a good idea to put your car in harms way of a garage door. Tell your girlfriend it's your fault. Practice that speech in front of the mirror if you have to until you actually believe it. Buy her some flowers. Take her to dinner. Get the car fixed. All is good!

Loving this thread. OP is upset about damage to his car, posts on car forum, the only interest in the entire thread is photos of the girlfriend. I love the OT section.

Way ahead of ya! Took her out that same night

lol I already removed the damaged portions and started replacing. It was just scratches and torn vinyl from down the vertical face of the trunk to where the back bumper juts outward. Both right tail lights had vertical scratches as well

I drafted a quick Risk Reward matrix based on my subjective analysis of the question "Should I post pics of my girlfriend online". As you can see the risk side of the matrix has a strong negative trend.

That's why you do what most car forum dudes do when posting photos of their super hot GF....You grab an image of a random hot chick off the Internet and hope no one notices and calls you out on it.
