Yes, something in 9mm or larger.

.22s are great, but they aren't a good choice for self defense. And they are nearly as loud as 9mm guns.

Is it accurate enough out to 50 feet? Does it actually have the power to finish the job? Did you consider any other brands or ideas in pellet rifles? I notice Bushmaster also makes one but I think they own DPMS so probably the same thing.

Thanks

Oh and I hate you cause now I'm gona spend more money.

Ditto, I too have a problem over here on the west side. Can hear my problem as I type this actually, and am also now looking at these.

You can buy subsonics that basically make it like a larger caliber air rifle. You'll have to adjust aim but you get all of the benefits of rifling and whatnot. Also if it's a semi like a 10/22 it won't cycle so you're getting a bolt action of sorts but it's still a lot easier than pumping an air rifle

Smith and Wesson Model 41
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_%26_Wesson_Model_41

For target or varmint shooting, not for personal defense.

If a neighbor sees it I want to be able to say it is an air rifle. Semantics when we are talking the same velocity and bullet weight but if a cop shows up called in by a karen I show it and he leaves me in peace.

I can hit mini cans out to 50 ft right off so with a bit of work could use on small birds. Not sure how lethal but could be fun. Braced or from rest should be able to shoot crows and such easy enough further out.

Just screwed around a minute with it 75 ft from rest hit soda can easy enough. Just been opening slider and shooting from inside. Finding bbs buried in the fence out 100ft so should kill. Problem is they don't sit still like a soda can.

For personal defense? I sometimes carry my 380 but I consider it "better than nothing" I almost always have my pocket nine on me

What's the fps?

We have caps up here, as I recall, anything air driven over 500 fps requires a license, anything under is all good.

Before I pull the trigger on this, I have to do some research on Bill C-21 up here. Rumour has it airguns could become restricted / prohibited. In no small part due to the fact that they look military. And therefore very very very scary.

We shall see. C-21 is concerning and stupid.

Yeah I was just going to say... re: airguns.

Though if they're legally for sale now, buy now - that's my thinking anyway.
