Headroom: 1018mm/943mm
Legroom: 1024mm/933mm

Versus F39:

Height: 1526mm - 50mm shorter
Length: 4360mm - 200mm shorter, quite a big difference
Width w/o mirrors: 1824mm 20mm narrower

So basically the usual story, close to the larger car up from a generation or two ago.

BMW Germany website reveals that 530e xDrive will not have SOP 11/23 like the G60 list above suggests, there are only 530e and 550e xDrive. This is very weird from BMW, usually such removals are not done this late and I have not found any logical reason for that.

Maybe the SOP was postponed to 03/24, because the xDrive version of 530e is very popular in Europe (especially in Northern) and BMW simply can't skip it. Do you ynguldyn see any reason for this SOP postponement or other information?

Additionally, is it sure (well, what is) that M560e xDrive will not be sold in Europe?

Thanks for your input.

530ex has been postponed to July 2024. M560ex no longer exists.

(Tracking changes is more difficult for me than the initial release plans, which is why I missed it.)

Do you have any idea why the M560ex has been scrapped?

A reason could be its high production costs vs expected sales....as a customer near the "elctrification way of thinking" would go for the i5 M60 in my opinion.

I’m not against EV. But I like the sensations of ICE and the range isn’t reliable enough for me on a more practical vehicle. And I’m young. In my mind, there’s time for EV later. I want to soak up ICE, now.

By practical, I mean I could commute with an EV, no problem, but it wouldn’t suit a 500 mile road trip with a family of 4 and all our stuff. I don’t want my time taken by charging and I want freedom to pick my routes. When range, charging time, and accessibility to chargers is improved then I’ll be more accepting of driving a electric Suburban or X7, etc.

My daily commuter is an M550 and I just enjoy the noise, shifts, and feel of the powerful engine working with the transmission.

Is there a RWD only 540i in the plan for US? I’ve only ever seen 540i x drive for G60 so if we want that engine we have to go awd?

Is the next gen M3 fully electric? I've now read several conflicting reports that they were going to do fully electric. Then it was a fully electric version plus a hybrid version. This weekend I read a full EV and a petrol only version

Probably safe to assume the M3 will be fully electric when and not until the 3 Series is fully electric.

I am thinking of changing my 520d F10 in 2024. I am at 190k miles now and am planning to top out around 205k miles. I had new rear tyres and a major service in August and booked for fronts to be replaced in November.

I live in the UK. I was wondering when the LCI 1 series is due? Looking at the car mags online, there are the “spy shots” of the obfuscated paintwork and guess work renderings, but I can’t see any solid info regarding when it’s due in the UK. Can anyone enlighten me as to when the next 1 is planned for release?

Cheers in advance !

The cargo volume seem to be on the low side for such a large car!

From the BMW website ! Which is most definitely more accurate than a news site.

Most other reviews also state it’s 550L.

I imagine usnews just did a bad conversion from litres to cubit feet .

I also used to own one and it most definitely was not 800 odd litres of space with the seats up

The BMW quoted value is 550 litres with the luggage cover in place (i.e. boot capacity), the 813 litres / 28.7 cuft is "behind the rear seat", i.e. up to the roof with the luggage compartment cover removed.
