I will say the Cadillac instrument cluster is better as the BMW boomerang gauges are still amongst the worst in the industry. The rest of the interior looks very Buick but I think it's a bit of a step up from past generations that were full of piano black and it's no longer the deal breaker that it used to be. The last gen ATS-V had by far the cheapest and worst looking instrument cluster of any car build in the last decade.

CT5-V Blackwing Engine to Live on in New Escalade V

Despite Cadillac saying the CT4 and CT5 would be the last generation of gas-powered V cars, spy shots and videos show the Escalade with what is clearly the handbuilt 6.2L Supercharged V8.

Damn. I'm not one of the guys that cares a whole whole lot about interiors but that's nice rental car versus space ship right there. Bottom one looks way more special and "cool" in terms of how everything is integrated together.

My dad, Detroit native and generational Cadillac enthusiast, was first in line for a CT6-V Blackwing when they debuted its initial limited run. His previous daily was a CTS-V coupe which was, after 6 years and 70k miles, a great car. He felt it was only correct that he should have one of the last big V8 Caddies.

After 11 months waiting for delivery and driving the car for a year, he (we) concluded it just wasn't up to snuff. Aside from it being the absolute least exciting twin turbo V8 either of us had ever experienced, the interior appointments really leave a lot to be desired. I kept saying I might as well be in a new Chevy Malibu with some carbon fiber slapped on the dash. It felt like a $70k car on a good day, nowhere near what you'd get for $100k from BMW or AMG.

So, after a year he went ahead and ordered an AMG E63S Touring which arrived this November. Couldn't be happier.

Now, granted the CT4 and CT5 are going to be a bit more high-sprung than the CT6, but knowing what I know now I would take a C or 3 any day of the week.

When I bought my Ď18 CTS-V I negotiated 15k off MSRP. It felt almost worth it at that price. Almost.

Iíve had a 5 BW on order since last March. Iím tired of waiting so Iím going M5 instead.

This is a typical cddy performance car, a lot of horspower but cant get a great 0-60 because its too powerful and the interior is blah. I dont trust cddy reliability either. The M550I is faster 0-60 with a lot less HP and quality is no close

Donít know if this is still true but Cadillacs usually start falling apart after 30-40k miles.

AWD vs RWD. The cddy pulls hard on a M550i through 1/4, considerably higher trap speed. Blackwing is a low 11 car. M550i isn't in that league.

What is with magazines not being able to replicate BMW stated M550i 0-60 of 3.6? Car&Driver could only get 3.9. Any media been able to pull it off? The Blackwing was right there at 3.5 with rwd.

It's not C&D's fault the car was slower than advertised. They re-tested after a software update.

This is not an AWD car. You don't understand what this car is about. You might want to look for an electric car, they have better acceleration.

I know it is true that BMWs start falling apart around that mileage, and more specifically their oil gaskets start disintegrating. I had to pay $$$$ to replace most of my gaskets.

I guess I had bad information, ty for the update. I am intrigued by the power and a manual transmission but I have little faith in the quality and reliability.
