Roof up, weird drivers window malfunction
Background: At the end of the cycle of you putting your roof up, the windows are all raised simultaneously so that they end up all closed.
Problem: Sometimes (maybe once per week) when the roof goes up, the drivers side window does this funny dance thing where it won't stay up. At the end of the roof cycle, the window goes all the way up, then retracts downwards about 6 inches or so. When I try to put the window up using the window button, the same thing happens. The window won't stay up. To solve it, I have to turn the car off, and then on again, and then the window works normally. Anyone experience this or know of anyone who has successfully worked out how to stop it from doing it? So far it is just a minor annoyance, but I can imagine that it will start to grate on my nerves if it keeps happening.

+1....mine is intermittent and doesn't refuse to go back up, but yes...it will come back down. I've noticed it isn't exactly related to the opening/closing of the roof, but seems to be more directly related to the all-window up/down switch. It's kinda like the "pinch protection" detects something in the way. Normally on most cars if the pinch protection thing is activated it will retract a little...as if it assumes you had a finger stuck in there. This acts more like I forgot to remove my head from the window prior to closing it...strange none the less.

I also have that problem from time to time... I suppose there's something related with pinch detection... i suppose the window is not properly aligned with the roof rubber joint it has to slide into.

That happens to me on occasions as well. It happens more if I put the top up on my sloped driveway than if on a flat surface. I almost always can get it on a second try with holding the all-up button.

I thought holding the window button would override the pinch protection, but I guess not, if it doesn't work every single time. I have to take that off my list of ways to kill people

Me too. only once so far, but mine only went up and down abount an inch. TO stop it I lowered the windows and raised them again.
Just another item to add to the list of things they have to fix tomorrow when I take the car in.... arghhhh.

I always have the same problem but usually better after I wash the car. May be my car is complaining she is too dirty!!!!
Anyway, I think just after closed the top, minor alignment problem activated the resistance sensor of the window, so it lower down again. Especially when the car dirty, the dust at the rubber increased the resistance further.
