Ok good news, the fix was very simple.
I’ve released version 5.3.11 to the App Store for approval which should fix your issue. It should be in the App Store tomorrow some time, although even tonight is possible as apple has been very fast to approve the last few days

Let me know if it gives you any problems

All the views change font sizes. But they are no where near the same size. The Subscription view font is much smaller than the others. Plus I was going to save this as a draft and then try to add some screenshots but I’m unable to save draft.

Yeah, change is tough, and I really enjoyed the previous version, but you’ve done a great job with this version. I am really enjoying using it and getting to know all the new features. And you’re doing a solid job knocking out the bugs too. Haven’t seen really anything lately.

Thanks apptest I keep noticing improvements. Whatever you did with the night mode fixed my issue. It looks good, now. I don't have to turn off night mode to see text, anymore. I also noticed with this last update, my ipad mini reply screen now formats correctly. It was off the screen, and I couldnt add an attachment to a post. I just noticed this has been fixed over the last day or so. Around the same time I realized the notifications icon had been turned into a megaphone glyph.

One thing I definitely noticed that's off, is post quoting, in a reply. Maybe I'm just using it wrong? I don't know.

What exactly is off for you when quoting a post? I can probably take a stab at it right now…

As for dark mode, its now at around 85% finished, so I’m glad its working better for you now. If you notice any areas it doesn’t auto switch over just let me know, I’m working those places out 1 by 1 and slowly putting them into each update

I feel like sometimes when I reply, it’s not always putting my reply outside the quote. Sometimes it just replies inline to the post. Sometimes my reply ends up in the quotebox, itself.

Ok for the first part, for sure next time you see that happen can you send me a link to the post you were trying to quote and I can take a look. I did notice stuff like that here and there, but never was able to pin it out consistently so if you see that happen again let me know and I can do some detective work

For the second thing, that’s for sure a limitation for now with no solution in sight in terms of moving the quote boxes around. But actually as I’m sitting here thinking about it, maybe there is a solution, but it wil take about a month to put into action (its just a theory that formed in my head a minute ago, so we’ll see

Adding a quote to a post after the fact is also an interesting idea. Let me thing on that one some more

I’m just thinking about all of the things that I can do on the desktop that I can’t do on the app. Sometimes I’m writing a post or a reply and in the meantime, someone replies to the post I’m replying to. I like to go back and cut their quote, and paste it, and reply to it. Meaning, I’ve quoted someone, I post a reply and click submit. Then I go back to read, and someone else replied right before my post I just submitted, and occasionally I go back on the desktop, version, quite their post, edit and reply to it in my edited post, so, I don’t have to post a second post, right after the post I just posted.

apptest not sure what happened. The reply button is completely gone. I'd imagine that would break the app for everyone using it. I had to get on my laptop. Usually the pencil is in the bottom right corner. There is no button to create or reply to a post.

Weird, are you still logged in? Does your avatar show up on the top right or better yet if you click your avatar to go into settings does your name show up?

I didn’t. That’s why I didn’t even catch it. I figured it was you doing a hard reset or something. Unless it logged me off at the 11pm site down time, earlier.

Also attaching 2 incidents that I had with quotes, earlier, and how it showed up on desktop as opposed to mobile.

Here’s an example of how it played out. In Esteban’s reply, his “Nice” is inside the quote box. It should be just below the quote box. And in my reply, it says Esteban quote, which I circled and then I circled and put an X on the reply, because those words “the gradual ascent” is my reply.

Also, at the bottom of both pictures, where the notification 📣 is, that says 11. That button only works when you’re originally logging into the app and checking notifications. If you click on that 11 it takes you to your notification posts. Then you click on a notification and reply. Once you reply, I’d like to click back on the 11 and have it take me back to the new notifications. It doesn’t, you have to click the back top arrow, at the left 2-3 times to get back to the notifications.

Got it, I have a new version .12 going out today that might fix the issue. I was fixing a different quote issue and on my device I’m able to properly quote that post, so I think I might have killed two birds with one stone. We’ll see…

The new app looks great!

I would like to report frequeant crashes especially when looking at threads with lots of pictures. When I tap on the pics within a thread mine will crash 90% of the time. My iPad is 4-5 years old so that could be part of the issue. Just wanted to report my experience. Thank you for what you do and Merry Christmas.

On my iPhone 13 mini, the iOS BIMMERPOST app is regularly crashing on me when I view this thread:

This is currently occurring in version 5.3.12 of the iOS BIMMERPOST app. AFAIK, that’s the latest version available on the App Store.

I’m running iOS 16.2 on my iPhone 13 mini.

Otherwise, I’m really enjoying the newly reworked version of the app!
