2009 Z4 with M3 engine
This should be awesome with a folding hard top. But 2009 is a long way

I wonder if it will come with DCT-IV and the 5.0 L M3 engine in 2015 so that my grandchildren--that I don't have--will buy one and let me drive it.
Boy, this wait and the absence of any tangible info is just killing me! |

I'm not feeling the front in the pic. Hopefully this is just a draft.

It is from the BMW's recent CS concept. I would love to see this new design on the next gen M3 but too late for now... http://www.motorauthority.com/news/c...ew-cs-concept/ |

This is a render of the up-coming Z4 re-skin to boost flagging sales, so it won't have a folding hard-top and the reason why the render still has the current Z4 rear wings.

Someone already managed to stick a M5 engine with SMG in a regular 3-series coupe and make it look like a M3--the hood and roof and everything. There were pictures of it on this forum. I thought that was pretty funny; a M3 killer disguised as a M3?

I doubt it. You may see it in race models, but you're more likely to see a s/c turbos for the S54 while its still in production on the Z4Ms. They're already out there for the M3 and just need some tweeking and further tuning to apply to the Z4M. Could see some 500+ hp tuned Z4Ms by early next year. ESS has already planned a 550 for release early next year...corvette killa...

Next Z4 weight
The current Z4 M raodster weighs 3,200 lb. (US figure). By the time they get done enlarging it and adding the hard roof, I'll bet it's pushing 3,500.

I still bet hartge (most probably) or another tune company will be shoving a 4.0L into the Z4... the engine characteristics (to me atleast) fits the Z4 like a glooove, plus its even lighter than the S54, but like dammmittt said, we'l probably be seeing some nice SC setups for the S54 Z4's... the best part about bimmers is how well they mix and match to create some real crazy rides |

Yes, but because it isn't selling, BMW are rushing through a re-skin with less dramatic surfaces, according to a news story in Autocar a couple of months ago.

Well I'm not saying it's out of the question but I wouldn't believe everything you read in Autocar. They have a habit of making stuff up just to fill the pages.
