Seriously though... what did he imagine the result of that stunt would be? The really successful guys always take all the necessary precautions. This guy just grabbed a handicam and strapped some ramps to a van and rode up the ramp with (what looks like) no calculations of how fast the van should be traveling or how much ground he would be covering.

He did it for $2,000 prize... outside Travis Pastrana's house. He spent his time in the hospital with a Moto guy that missed Pastrana's foam pit in the backyard by 50 feet. I will never understand that shit. It's a sub culture that I will always shake my head at.

He was with travis and the gang, they do stupid things like that. I don't think anyone thought it was going to end quite that badly though (obviously)

I think the only thing that was obvious about that situation was that it WOULD end that badly... as opposed to it not ending that badly. More balls than brains?

Most of those bad accidents in NC are amateurs, street bike tommy hit the bull-dozer, the amateur black guy on the crotch rocket, etc...Travis almost always lands his stuff, and when he doesn't it is usually because he was trying something never done before.

The suicidal BMX'er was a pro, he should have calculated that better. 4th grader could of seen that he would be in the air far too long to land that.

You seeing more and more guys doing things which the only end results is an early death. I swear some of they guys are suicidal, instead of cutting their wrist or jumping off a bridge they found a a way to go out with a blaze of glory. There was a story on 60 Mins where they show this kid who free climbs, no ropes or anything and he climbs shear walls that are 1500 to 2000 feet high, the only guy to free climb half Dome. This guys activities are just going to end badly, the is no other end result but for him to die falling off a shear mountain wall.

The kid with a bike over the Van killed himself since he knew he would not die doing a bike stunt.

Two brothers died within 4 years of each other, the last one was a parachuter/skier. He would jump off mountains and parachute while skiing. He died 4 years after his brother died a similar way.

Ok I know travis personally I have been to his house and I can tell you that they do plan things out, its not "lets just go balls out" and expect the best.

On the other hand these guys are pushing the limits and they're not all "experts". Its "extreme" sports and injuries happen.
