Ferrari winning is awesome but it doesn't leave me much to talk about

I like Max, nothing to complain about unless he takes out a Ferrari

Trashing Hammy when he is down isn't any fun

Nah it's appropriate because even before retiring, Lec was walking away from him the entire time.

Bulbous doesn't mean slow, there have been CFD simulations showing that the ferrari side pods reduce drag up to 50% vs: the f1 base model render. That on top of their significantly higher cornering speed means ferrari will insanely hard to touch, they look like they have no weaknesses this season.

Well. Let's hope so..
Hopefully , the RB18 is lighter (- 7.5 KG) at Imola as well .

Nonetheless as we witnessed today , The '22 Ferrari is a beast !

Still think that Sainz is faster than Charlie .
Just remember the race results from 2021 !
Don't know why , but Sainz runs currently with a Ferrari 'B PU ...

For sure minus 7.5 kilos will close the gap to Lec as Marko was saying they need to lose it. Ferrari has somehow.

Of course . But you know very well that a DNF (can be) but is part of the race results as well .

BTW :The 2 DNF's from Charlie in 2021 was his own fault !
MAX's 2 DNF wasn't his own fault ...

Just look MAX at Bahrain and today in Australia and you know what I mean !

That should tell you everything you need to know.

1) We aren't comparing Max and Charles... We are comparing Charles and Carlos.

2) Sure DNF's can be a part of racing, but that introduces another factor into the equation of determining who is truly faster - if we are are to determine that based on points (which in itself is a bad metric that doesn't show the full picture).

So we have to normalize the data on points per race completed not points over a season, because if you want to measure it like that the data is subjected to selective bias and we can say Perez is better than Max as of right now because he has more points. But if you do it via points per race then Max has 25 points per race completed and Perez only has 15 points per race completed which is a more accurate representation of the image.

The same thing applies to which team has the faster car, if you want to just look at points as a whole mercedes is much faster than redbull. Again not a good way to look at data, and is actually called Cherry picking of data to prove a point......

3) This image is what shows the real story of 2021:

1) Charles beats Carlos in races
2) Charles beats Carlos in Qualifying
3) Charles beat Carlos in highest grid position

And was only 5.5 points behind with 2 DNF's, showing even with 2 extra races Carlos couldn't close the gap.

Now these are the proper comparison metrics..... That should tell you what you need to know.

5.5 points behind still means you lose the championship at the end, you must agree with that whatever the graphs you show.

Yeah but sometimes the better driver loses the championship, that's called misfortune.

Well I guess it is not fully complete, as there are more factors like bottas having to let lewis pass, but it is not enough to completely change the whole situation. Bottas was never consistent enough to be a true threat, he would pull great qualifying times and then botch the start and end up somewhere in the mid field.

Regardless, the data points I posted were far more comprehensive than just saying points per season....

You still don't get it ..
I'm speaking of the cause of a DNF .

There is a big difference between a "driver crash vs a motor (PU) failure" !
"Own fault vs helpless and bad luck"

In other words :
Charlie could have beaten Sainz in 2021 , but Charlie lost it by his own DNF faults !
Charlie's (own fault) DNF's are included in his race results , that's why he lost it from Sainz .

That should tell you what you need to know.

You're talking about who the higher placed driver was in the world championship I'm talking about who the faster driver is - which was the initial point of contention. Just because you finish higher up doesn't mean you're faster - there are many other factors at play.

So in regards to the intial point of who is faster, it is Charles and the data shows it was Charles as well in 2021 regardless that he finished 5.5 points behind. His performance in every metric was better than Carlos. That is what determines who is faster.
