How smooth are DCT shifts supposed to be?
Not sure if I'm just paranoid since I had tranny work done but when I'm at highway speeds and upshifting, it jolts a little bit, is it supposed to do that given it's double-clutch? It's not supposed to be totally smooth? I know, hard to explain w/ only words.

That depends on the tuning. If the mapping is not tuned correctly then you will have horrible DCT performance. If your using a JB4 then that will be even more problematic.

how'd you even find this 1yr old thread haha I'll bite since theres not much going on in these parts
i don't remember if the stock tune did this or if its just the cobb tune but in comfort mode, its slightly slower on shifts but it gives a very satisfying DCT "fart" on upshifts. However, in sport and sport+ it doesn't do it quite as much in the lower rpms although it does shift noticeably faster resulting in the slight jolt from the G's which is fun in its own way, ever so slightly reminds me of banging through gears when I had a MT |
