I guarantee you there are very similar cases to this and don't get caught on. But, it isn't a new phenomenon that a young pretty white girl goes missing and the whole media apparatus goes into action. Meanwhile there are thousands of missing ugly white people and minorities that nobody gives a shit about. It isn't new and it is real.

Why not ask yourself why your Apple feed dropped this in your lap? The agenda isn't yours, but perhaps there is an agenda to the "news" that is selected to be fed to you?

Sounds like they were potentially kicked out of the restaurant on August 27th (described earlier). Not clear exactly what led to that but was is interesting is this happened about 4 hours prior to the Bethune "van spotting video" near Spread Creek camping area where the body of Gabby was found.

This could be the last time shes seen alive since Brian ends up 2,500 miles away four days later without her.

Yes, I did say that. And my intention wasn’t black vs white but in general more coverage due to being white. I followed up with another article that popped up and this time included someone of Asian descent. So my original intent and curiosity was: is the coverage typically more on white folks or is it more on white and good looking people? What about minorities and/or good looking minorities? Is it not okay to mention something like that without making it a black vs white discussion? I think so.

I feel like most people here automatically went to the black vs white thing. Again, that first article I posted popped up just yesterday while the Gabby case has been published many times a day for weeks now. Same thing with the second article. So of course it would make any person question the discrepancy.

Edit: I completely understand and can see why my original post caused such a stir. My bad. I do stand behind the thought process of what I said above though. Makes it seem like the media perpetuates the common sentiments lots of people are thinking

I do wonder about this from time to time. To be honest, I stopped watching the news for 15 years. Only recently started reading headlines again but stayed off of it because I felt it's all very agenda driven, not to mention depressing as heck.

Maybe you didn't adjust the date range to "All since 1851" did you?

Meanwhile, did you notice the discussion during the NYC Democrat Mayor primaries? Defunding the police was not a major driver.

And if some small # of police depts were "defunded", maybe they were over funded before, no? It is possible...
