Does your E89 do this?

A very low volume whine when decelerating, noticeble from about 55 mph as it coasts down. Sounds to me like a diff but is it normal?
thanx

My 2012 28i did. I wouldn't classify it as low volume though. Sounded almost like a vacuum leak when I let off the gas. More noticeable under 35 due to less road noise, but also present at highway speeds. Took me several visits to the dealer and ultimately a few test rides with their "noise and vibration" expert. Rear differential was replaced under the CPO Warranty after the $50 deductible.

Thanks If the volume increases I will have it checked. Is your new diff making any sounds on decel?

My 2014 z4 28i had the same problem. It was very loud. Diff replaced 60,000 kms.

Now I can hear plenty of tyre noise
