Carbon fiber front lip

So I bought a carbon fiber front lip, very hesitantly, from ebay, as I had shtty luck with the duraflex one. This one was made in Taiwan, and cost 395. I made them assure me that they would pay for return shipping if it was horrible lol. I must say, it ended up being beautiful, and the fitment was not too bad. What do you guys think?

Looks good. Problem is, IMO, just makes the front end that much lower and even more prone to dragging on driveway approaches, etc. this has proven to be the most frustrating aspect of day to day life with this car!

Never had a problem with mine and I am lowered. Stock cars scrape on my driveway. LOL

Living in Europe I really want to get this lip for my car but the problem is that roads just aren't the same over here. Really high curbs many steep ramps and insane speed bumps makes this something that just isnt practical. It looks good though. 1 recommendation though I would wrap the middle lower bumper in black in order to clear up the gaps this lip shows.

I'm still hesitating to have lips all around as not like to drill holes to attach them. But it's cool!:

The official way is to pop the mirror out and there are clips in there to release.

Or if you pull it out evenly it will pop off. It takes a good bit of force to pop it out.

When reinstalling watch the little tabs that keep the lip even around the frame, they are small and can break easily.

I tried having mine wrapped also and after 1 attempt of my own and 2 attempts by a wrap shop they never turned out just right since there are so many sharp angles on them.

I ended up getting real carbon replacement caps for the mirrors and roll covers.

The holes are not that big of a deal. I used a right angle drill.

I lined it all up, used 3M tape to attach it so it wouldn't vibrate or moved. Attached them where you remove body screws, then I drilled the holes then used plastic rivets in every spot it had a hole in the lip and side lip.

You can use the rivets or buy body clips to screw them in.

Doing it this way makes it very secure and looks factory.

The last thing you want to happen is for one of these parts to come loose going down the highway.

I also wrapped the center bar in matte black so the body color was not seen where the carbon lip did not fit 100%. I popped out the lower half of the lower center grille so I could wrap around the back side to be sure and cover all color.

There are front lips for the normal bumper. A few different options are out there.

I am not aware that the side panels are different on a normal trim Z4. If that's correct, then you can use any side lips that are for the E89.

Looks great! I picked up the eBay carbon fiber front, sides, diffuser, and trunk lip a few years ago. I can recommend all except the diffuser, it was a nightmare to fit.
