Enhancing e89 exhaust sound

My z4 sounds 2 point nought sounds lovely.

Apart from replacing the exhaust which I'm not doing , is there anyway to make the exhaust a bit more ???? Throaty? Do air filters do anyrhing? Not looking to spend millions but just fancied having a bit of fun.

no need to replace the complete exhaust, you could just replace the silencer part (this is the middle section) with a straight tube

involves a bit of cutting and welding though

How much does it change the sound? This sounds interesting. I don't want my Z to sound like an annoying drifter.

Which section needs to be replaced?

I take it your car is a 2.0, reading through your threads. If so not much you can do without swapping parts.

If I am mistaken and your have a 35i or 35is you can do 2 things.
Chearper - exhaust flap know as "golf t mod"
Pricey - MHD flash for burble settings.

I have done boht on my 35is its perfect, no need for anything aftermarket.
MHD set to sport/sport+ only with medium 3 seconds. this coupled with golf-t makes it relatively quiet in normal and nicely loud/aggressive in sport
