Tire and wheels advices
Hey,
I am considering upgrading my 3.0i wheels and tires with the following setup: Front: 19x8.5/ET35 255/35/19 Rear: 19x9.5/ET38 275/35/19 What do you guys think? I did a bit of a research and it seems like a perfect fit, my only concern is for the front tire 255/35/19, I haven't found anyone running this size. Art |

Selecting 275/35/19 would be a mistake imo at the back, you 'll have a considerably shorter final ratio and wrong tacho readings. Stick to 275/30 instead. |

Thanks for the input, I tried a 255/35/19 tire on a 8.5 rim yesterday, given the offset was 43, it was way too big and was hitting shock so much that even ET35 wouldn't help.

Anyone has 19x8 ET25 on the front or similar in 8.5?
Getting pretty close to figuring out max size/offset for wheels, so far I found one confirmed most aggressive figment on this forum: front : 19"x8,5 et25 with 235-35-19 back : 19"x9,5 et28 with 265-30-19 |

Front : 19 X 8 J you can go as wide as ET 19 without headaches.
19 X 8,5 J ET 22 should be your limit as well Rear : 19 X 9,5 J ET 35 is the limit and again it depends on the specific tire how ''flat'' the sidewall is, but et35 fits most without inside fender rolling 19 X 10J ET 44 max The lower the et, the outer the rim. |

Bit of an update:
Went with T3 CSL wheels with these specs: 19" x 8" et34 front 225/35/19 19" x 9" et37 rear 255/35/19 Definitely nothing aggressive, but it was fitting the budget. Rear turned out excellent, front where 5mm tacked in but not a big deal. I just wanted to get the 17" replaced with something decent and get the car sold. Here is a pic of the set-up, thanks for all suggestions, I'll keep them in mind next time I get a 35is Last edited by theART; 10-19-2012 at 02:16 PM.. |

I'm trying to figure out if I can buy a rear pair of style 296 rims and mount then on the front with 255 wide rubber without using spacers but it doesn't seem like that will happen because of the ET40 and 9" width of the rear style 296 wheel. Thoughts? |

--I would go with 19'' instead of 20'' as it rides better and looks more in harmony with the mass of the car. As a plus you will get tires at lower prices. --DON'T get 8,5'' in the rear, you will loose all concavity of the chr, unfortunately in 20'' diameter they come in 10 or 10,5'' but their offset is a bit stretched out and you will most probably need to work the liner a bit. --The chr brilliant silver may be nice but the titan matt finish is all the money. --Anyway your ideal (and maxed out) et specs are: Front 8,5J et22 (this means you will need 10mm spacers on the 19'' chr) Rear 9,5J et35 or 10J et43 Tires 235/35 f, 265/30 r Good luck |

thank you so much for your advise and opinion, I agreed when you say "looks more in harmony with the mass of the car", I do have now 19" wheels i just wanted to give a try....I saw the hamann style. I will consider the titan matt finish too , you are right. Thank you so much will post some pics....In the worse scenario can always go back to 19"..... |

From some research I would say 245 is widest you want to go on the front, unless its super low profile like 25, otherwise there might be clearance issues. On back there was still plenty of room, I could of probably fit in a 275 with 10" width and right ET. I've updated the post with tire sizes, I purposely wanted a bit more meat on the back to give at an aggressive look, hence went with 255/35 instead of 255/30, also 235/35 would of looked really good on 8" fronts, but 225/35 worked as well. |

Wheel size help
Can anyone tell me what is the width of this stock wheel on my '11 Z4 30i? I am going to remove the noisy and bumpy RFT's and install some Michelin PSS tires and want to go from 225/45R17 to 235/45R17 all around. If the rim width is 8", I should be fine. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
