Oh I agree with that.

But coins that can be made into NFTs cheaply have a big future.

Yeah, while there certainly is amazing digital art out there the NFT craze in its current form is absurd. But think about how many more people are aware of what NFTs are today than they were a month ago.

Again, most people think the concept is dumb until they start being used for real world applications. Real estate will be the most interesting case use I think.

Different "coins" are used for different things. I think Litecoin will start to get used much more as a currency / transfer of value. In other parts of the world LTC is being widely adopted as a form of accepting payment, and we're starting to see more of that in the US. I think more and more businesses will be accepting Bitcoin and Litecoin as payment. I think some tax rules and procedures need to be ironed out by the feds first, but it'll happen. Litecoin is a very fast and inexpensive way to transfer funds. I sold a kayak on Craigslist a couple years ago and took Litecoin as payment - it'll get more mainstream as time goes on. HODL !!

LTC was the first thing I mined about seven months before this thread started. My wife at the time got mad at me for driving up the electric bill. I had about 50 of them on a wallet that got lost on some hard drive years ago. Derp. Used wemineltc to get them. They ended up ripping everybody off anyway. LOL.

Coinbase going public is cool though. Waiting for that initial price to come out. It was estimated at $250 earlier this morning, looking like $347 now. About 1 LTC/share. I wonder what that ratio will look like in a year?

That's cool - I wish I got into mining early on. I actually bought a full bitcoin in 2013 for ~$400. Didn't know much about it at the time and did not have a cold storage wallet. I kept my key written down on a piece of paper that has long since vanished from this planet. It depresses me any time I think about it. I know that some day in the not so distant future that $400 coin will be worth well above it's current $63,000.

It certainly happens. Not much point in being upset about it.

I mined a lot 2016-2018 in grad school but sold most of what I mined to pay bills or buy more mining equipment which I regret selling.

I did mine a bunch of RVN when it first came out. Been trading it and waiting for it to become worth something so I can pay off my student loans.

Now I just have some old Titan XP cards that are mining. They don't make much but it is enough to hold my interest and play around with.

I look back through my wallet transactions and get pretty sad about what I sold my BTC and other coins for. It shows the transactions and their current value. So any BTC I get these days I just hang onto.

Litecoin is my first recommendation to first timers. Bitcoin and Ethereum a close 2nd. Good coins to hold longer term. The small alts can be fun to use for quick trades but I'm too chicken shit It's tempting to trade in and out of some of them though but I need to resist the urge - I'll fall into a gamblers debt

Because what is the actual real life use-case/utility? Yeah I see what they want to do with it but it also has to make sense, and idk if it really has a use case that will be put to use. Just my opinion, as I haven't done a TON of research on it, because I also didn't really put much into it. Maybe you can convince me/show me proof otherwise?

EDIT: just looked more, they want to do remittance and payments for the unbanked and such..... I already have a project I 100% believe in for that...... $XRP . That's why it's not long term for me.

This aged well.

Anyways, the price of doge rocketed up and brokers like Robinhood clearly had part in it due to the ease of access given to being able to purchase it. When I purchased doge a few years ago under 1c, you couldn't just go buy it on any broker site, instead you would convert other coins to Doge or other cryptos you wanted and stash them in your wallets.

Another thing to point out, the morons trading doge on Robinhood thinking they own the crypto are clearly clueless. Robinhood doesn't give you the private keys or an option to transfer it to your personal wallet lol. So for the people thinking they have some currency they can buy shit with in the future, you essentially do not hold shit, robinhood does.

Elon and Mark Cuban pumped this up as a joke, this coin is no more special than the other junk out there.
