The 19" PSS made all the difference I was looking for. It now drives like it should and is a much smoother ride.

I'm looking to replace the crappy OEM BRIDGESTONE RE050 and I want to stay on RUN FLAT (I travel a lot). Bridgestone S001 or RE960AS POLE POSITION RFT? Any advice on that?

RE960AS is all-season. Instant pass in my books. Go with summer and winter tires if you need the winter capabilities.

I am thinking of staying in the run-flat world. Any input on the Pirelli P Zero Run Flat Max summer performance for summer. I am looking ot get a less harsh and little quieter ride.
Thanks, Jake. |

You may also want to try those "generation 3" RFT like Contisportcontact 5. I have those on my 335 and they are more comfortable and quieter than what came on the z4 |

I'm struggling to find good tires down here in Argentina. What you can actually buy are:
RUN FLAT: 1. the OEM POTENZA RE050 which is understand is well known for a crappy tire 2. continental sport contact 2 SSR (which I also understand is an old tire) 3. pirelli pzero / pzero rosso NON RUN FLAT: 4. HP PRIMACY HP, which I understand is not a sport tire 5. pilot sport old generation PS2 6. continental sport contact 3 7. dunlop sp sport maxx or dunlop direzza 8. pirelli pzero / pzero rosso 9. maybe some Yokohama What do you think guys is my best choice? I use the car 90% of the time on the road, high speed, never snow. I favor good grip and handling. |

+1 for the Continental Extreme Contact DWS ..... great tire, but I'd put them at #2 right behind the PSS's. Found a set on-sale last time replaced and I'd use them again as long as they're on-sale. If not, I'd go back to PSS's.

Bringing back this old thread. I have a couple basic questions - just hoping to get some advice.
We just got a 2014 35i M Sport and are thinking of changing out the tires for comfort. Looks like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires are the most recommended/highly rated - though we are open to other suggestions if you have them. Our current tires are: F: 225/40-18 R: 255/35-18 I see some folks replaced their tires with 19s or with wider tires. I hope these aren't dumb questions - but how does a wider or larger tire fit on the same rim? What does going with a bigger tire do for the ride? What's the advantage? Any specific recommendations? thanks in advance for your advice!

Anybody have feedback on the best rain tire? Subtropical rain storms down here all summer and the streets and roads are a combination of sea shells, a bit of gravel and tar that they call asphalt. Traction control and anti lock brakes help a little.
I'll be up sizing from the 17" OEM POTENZA RE050's on the wife's car to some 19" staggers. I've had good luck with Hankook Ventus on some of my other rides and I'm leaning towards another set for the Z4, but they were a lot heavier vehicles. |

Just bought a second hand 2014 E89 but the tires needed changing so I got the Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZP (RUNFLAT). Still didn't drive the car yet though to give my impressions on them as I dropped it off at a BMW Specialist garage as it needs oil change + brake fluid change + repairing some rim scratches
