Seems like a cheap version of everything but I guess it is cheap so it is what it is.
With eco boost you get all wheel drive option for mid 20s
Haldex awd, so likely 100% fwd until slip is detected with a max of 50% to the rear under slip. Hence his comment about being fwd based.

Ford uses their own FWD-based AWD but it works similar to Haldex. On my wife's Explorer Sport is stays in AWD under 30mph, then switches to slip&grip FWD above that. Supposedly it can send 100% of torque to the rear wheels if needed but might just be Ford marketing BS.

The previous Explorer? The current one is rwd.

But yeah, frequent Haldex marketing fluff says 100% to the rear, but they really just mean 100% of the available 50%.

The Bronco Sport apparently has the old Focus RS setup which does have the ability overdrive the differential for short periods and can send about 60% to the back.

Ah. Thought it was based on the hybrid not having an option at all for awd under the build and price on fords site.

This is exactly what I need. I don't need a truck, but would like one to go to Home Depot in to haul stuff for the garden or projects around the house.
I'm hoping when it is released and hopefully the chip shortage will subside eventually so that more dealerships have them. In that case, hoping leasing becomes super cheap so I can simply add this to the stable and use it when I actually need it.

I have no need for a pickup, but it's always nice to have another option. That said, if they were going to recycle a name they should have used Courier instead.

Ford has lousy lease deals. I wouldn't expect the new Maverick to break that paradigm.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Ridgeline starts at $36k. This thing is dirt cheap at $20k.

Just realized this thing is hybrid as standard. Estimated 40mpg city and 500 miles per tank. Excellent value for money. They should sell plenty of these.

I like it. I just wish they have an option for a longer bed or extended cab. Would love to use it for work.
