Pretty much just the T50. Not that I can afford it. I thought maybe the 992 GT3 but the design has taken a step back and early reports say it's not an upgrade in terms of driving fun.

As far as just-released cars the 765LT and M2CS seems to be pretty big wins.

The new 6, the sad reality is, I think Mazda's commitment to the best driving experience and what BMWs used to be, while highly appreciated from most enthusiasts, is going to back fire, today's consumers just don't give a s**t, and would prefer another crossover/SUV/SUV-that-looks-like-a-coupe-but-has-4-doors/Truck/truck-with-extra-rear-legroom-that-is-basically-a-SUV-but-pretends-to-be-a-truck, or some other new niche vehicle that no one has milked every dollar out of yet.

Lexus IS500 tops the list for me.
And also the rumored Supra with a manual.

Then I find out on the internet. No call, or email from Tesla. You would think those with Plaid+ orders would have been notified first. Right...

New Golf R looks like fun. If BMW M3's their 340i's too, BMW will be totally out of the question for me.

Really just the next generation 2-series, particularly the M2. And I suppose the next Mustang whenever it comes.

The 911 just got redesigned, the Boxster/Cayman don't seem to have any redesign around the corner. New M3/4 are out as well.

Nothing else that pulls at my heart strings...in the age of bloated weights/tech/EVs it's quite difficult to get excited as a driving enthusiast.

I'm looking forward to my Mach-E GT Performance which goes into production in a month.

I'd also love to see the ID.X get green-lit and be sold in the US:

https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...tric-hot-hatch

Finally, like others, I also continue to be intrigued by Mazda's new I6. The latest rumor is that an SUV will come first:

https://www.autoblog.com/2021/05/28/...-architecture/

Hopefully that does not mean the sedan has been shelved.

New mustang may be interesting, hoping they can shrink the rear end a bit on the vert and offer a nicer trim options.

M2
Supra (if they release a manual)
400Z

That's really all that interests me right now to replace the 135i.

Sound. V8 over a turbo 6 any day
Usability of power
Simple. Not overly packed with tech
Less refined. 911 went heavy on luxury for this gen.

Don't get me wrong I like both of my cars. But the 992 isn't scratching the itch like I thought it would.

Maybe if I put the car on track it would change my mind but it's unlikely I ever will. Street car days on track are behind me.

Hmm, as a V8 owner, my experience is:

1 It depends on the exhaust. Pretty much anything can sound like anything, it's not really dependent on the engine. Now, if you just want the loudest engine, you can have that with straight pipes, like so many douche-trucks that are loud all the time trying to sound "fast". The "best sounding cars" at the races I compete in are not dependent on the number of cylinders, in other words no correlation. The flat out loudest usually correlate to the length and how "open" they are, such as straight pipes no cats, short pipes, etc.

2 Full torque that starts around 1200-1700 is more usable than small displacement OHV V8 torque that has to spin up to stratospheric RPMs to generate some torque and even then it's not much. For day to day driving and usability of power, modern turbo setups will win every time. Hitting the gas at 1500rpm in those small displacement V8s is worse than any modern turbo lag. You won't go anywhere. Despite shifting being fun when necessary to wring the max performance out of the car, it's a chore at other times and that's where having the torque on hand makes the car much more usable/livable.

3 High strung V8 engines may not be all full of tech, but high strung is still high strung. Revving to 8000+rpm puts a lot of stress on components and there are several issues with these engines. Same can be said for just about any engine. It's really more about how modern electronic-driven cars, sales and the fast pace of "development" pretty much guarantee that newer cars today won't be running 100% functionally in 20 years. As cars have gotten more complex and higher performance, this has kind of gone out the window compared to some old 350 chevy engine in a truck/car. IMO, we passed this "line" many years ago, definitely before the E92.

I've gotten way less excited about anything new in the past couple years.

This year so far, in this order

M5 CS
Nissan Z
TRX RAM
992 GT3
Golf 8 R

New BRZ looks pretty good. Bronco and V8 Raptor seem very cool, too. Couldn't care less about all the new "exclusive" McLarens and shit.

"New" meaning I can currently walk into a dealer and order one...either the Huracan EVO or R8.

Probably the last NA V10 (perhaps V10 in general) we'll be able to order.

In terms of "New" as in "not out yet" I'm very curious to see where Porsche goes with the 992 GT3RS and GT2 (if the Turbo is any indication, the GT2 will be an absolute monster) but I also have been lukewarm to the 992 generation in general.
