Yeah, Thicc got me hyped on the B58. It's why I got the 540i instead of the M550i.

It is a great engine! It was the best part of my 340i ZHP. However, the S55 in my M2C has spoiled me because of it's ridiculous top end power.

Multiple BMW owner here, over a dozen of 'em, going back to the E43 days. We picked up a Supra 3.0 Premium last fall. Almost 6000 miles on it now, it's my DD.

Fantastic car, period. The few things that folks complain about (visibility, buffeting, egress) are non-issues now. I find the visibility great, actually, compared to many other sports cars I've owned. As mentionned, the windows-down buffeting is an easy fix, problem solved.

If I had to pick one thing I like most about the Supra is that it comes from the factory fully-loaded. You don't get nickeled and dimed for every option, like most other BMWs. The only factory option on the 3.0 Premium is the Driver's Assitance Package, and that's ridiculously cheap for what you get compared to BMW pricing.

Great value, fantastic car, reliable, and a blast to drive. Highly recommended.

I haven’t heard, what is the solution for the windows buffeting and if a physical alteration, is this installed in your posted pic?

Solution is an overlay on the mirror pillar which redirects airflow from the open window. Yes, it's installed in the pic above. Here's a closeup.

The only other element that was less-than-stellar was the steering wheel. Here's an easily-found replacement, which puts the final touch on an otherwise fantastic cockpit.

not sure how big of an issue this is, but the nurburgring guys have made a few videos about the bump steer, how it ruins the car, and eventually altered the suspension to fix it. Probably a non-issue for street usage i'd imagine.

I don't understand why they're using a MASSIVE airbag that looks like a relic from a '90s Ford. Hopefully no Takata components behind that giant frisbee.

Thanks for the very informative video. I had no idea about this!

I'm tuned on stage 2 with Bootmod3. My G30 flies; I can't imagine the pull on 340s and Supra's!

I think you guys have sold me on my next car.

I totally agree on all accounts. I just can't get past the looks. It's too cartoonish and way too many fake vents and unneeded aero. Too bad Toyota didn't have some Germans on the design team to pull the Asian designers back a bit. More like this:

i think part of the reason it looks bad is because they dropped the FT1 first... and then the actual car looks like some half assed attempt at recreating it. Its like seeing an F80 M3, then they give you a 330i in real life.

meanwhile the lexus lc500 looks 99% like the concept

Given the ugly designs like the beaver faced grilles coming out of BMW, it's debatable whether having German designers will improve the looks or make it uglier.

I've watched this video and was super worried but then drove out on track and experienced going from 130 mph into a long braking zone.

It is nowhere NEAR as pronounced as these guys make it seem for 99.99% of drivers. I think their problem was that they're renting the car out to people that are taking the car on the Nurburgring where some braking zone could see the car from 160 to 20?

How it felt for me was a small twitch in steering. That's it

Not possible since Takata went bankrupt back in 2017.
