Talking My Take on the Supra after four months

The TL; DW is that the car is great => 9 out of 10

Pros: Great bargain, handles well (feels like an ///M), great power, and quality interior (thanks BMW)

Cons: Forward visibility, no tach or gears on the HUD,

Great car. Would be better if it was possible to drive it with the windows down, though...

I had no idea. Your comment made me dig around a bit, that is an interesting phenomenon with the Supra.

Found this R&T article on the subject

Referencing 7:45 - AFAIK it doesn't share any suspension components with any F8X

There are multiple companies that produce a fix for the wind buffet noise from $8 up to $200. Yes it's annoying you have to buy something but it's really not that big of a deal.

Thank you! I forgot to mention that in the review but I've bought wind buffeters that fixed the issue.

As someone above mentioned you can spend $8-200 to fix the wind buffeting

What parts? M2 suspension is the M3/4 suspension w/ slightly different springs, dampers, & sway bar. I haven’t seen anything to suggest that Supra shares any of those parts, wouldn’t make sense either as Supra is not built off an M chassis. It shares almost all of its suspension with the G29 Z4 and none with any dedicated chassis M cars.

Doesn't look like Mark is correct here - search the part numbers for the Supra suspension and it ties back to G29 suspension parts. Even the LCA which is discussed as being longer and potentially different is just the G29 LCA. It really wouldn't make sense to share M2 suspension components as those are M3/M4 suspension components to begin with and designed for an entirely different chassis.

g29 and f87 front subframe are completely different, not a single part of the front suspension is alike.

I've never leased so what happens when you return the car with powder coated black wheels? Assuming spoiler and exhaust also have to be removed?

They don't care about cosmetic mods unless they're something ridiculous. My M4 had powder-coated wheels and after-market diffuser when I sold it as the lease was nearing and my m235i had powder coated wheels

Also I didn't mean any of that in a condescending way - just clarifying. M cars aren't the end all be all and Supra is built off a great platform regardless. I watched some of your vids and enjoy that you're vibing with the Supra

Personally I always drive with my windows down and sunroof open unless I'm on the highway or it's like 85+ out. Cold is not a factor here in SoCal.

Would never get a car with buffeting issues or without a sunroof.

I forgot to mention it in the video but the problem is fixable.

I have these wind deflectors from IND which blend in perfectly with the car but before then I used trimmed door protectors for $8 off Amazon

Absolutely must have.

M cars generally don't come with a sunroof anyway. I do kind of miss it when in the canyons, but the extra head room for a helmet is appreciated on the track.

There's a YouTube personality out there who goes by ThicWhips.
He has a black one that's been pretty modified.
He's also owned BMWs in the past,.
I think that he likes his Supra.
