Z51 ie. the one you actually want, should take the price north of 70k easily.
I agree. So for 70-75K you get:

- Midengine all-aluminum chassis
- MR shocks
- 495hp dry sump V8
- 8 speed DCT
- Suspension lift
- Aero downforce
- 3.0 0-60mph
- ~190mph top speed
- Probably a 7:2x lap at the Ring

And the Boomers can still fit two golf clubs in trunk.

That’s a steal.

Oh yeah, just to be clear, absolutely still a great deal even at 70-75k IMHO.

Just wanted to pour some cold water on the 60k supercar meme.

Is that not the case for just about any car? M4 needs DCT, comp pack, then exec pack and so on.

The fact the the msrp starts under $60k is rather amazing.

A mid-engine normally aspirated V8 sports car, with 495hp, DCT and under starts $60k.

GAME CHANGER.

Pretty amazing that they can make this car for 60k, especially with all of the R&D needed to move to a totally different platform and engine layout.

It still will attract the retired hawaiian shirt wearing fuzzy dice in the mirror demographic just like all of the other chevy products but it's a great engineering accomplishment and a worthy move to a more sophisticated product.

If they can offer a real track package (aero, coilovers, BBK, semi-slick tires) for this beast, it wouldn't need much else to smoke the competition at the local circuit. (certainly not power if the 0-60 claim is true)

They did say sub 3.0sec.

Absolutely believable since C&D just did 3.0sec with new 992 S(443hp/390tq 3,395 lbs).

DCT + launch control = repeatable times(like Porsche)

The M2 Comp is a Honda Civic compared to a C8 1LT. Not even in the same league. M2C plus dct, paint, and exec pack...you are looking at $64-65k.

this is gonna be a major turning point for the German performance car industry. At this price point with this kind of spec, it pretty much destroys any potential competition. You'd be crazy to buy anything other than this from a value perspective.

Looking at the bimmerpost frontpage and the potential front-end of the new M4, I'd say they have a potential problem.

LT V8 motor, mid engine, 500hp, 3300 lbs, DCT, good looks, great interior imo. probably 70k with good options. And thats still a steal.

I would see no reason for an M4/M2c unless you need back seats
Cayman would be a 4 cylinder at this money and down 200hp

Im imagining a Z06 with a tune/exhaust for 100k ish. Its gonna be a monster.

sad about the no manual tho

If that were REALLY the case mustangs and camaros would have destroyed all the germans years ago.

They mentioned last night that the cockpit is a little bigger. The guy said an inch more leg room.
My buddy who’s 6’ 4” about 260 fits comfortably in my C6. He liked driving it so much he made me an offer to buy it.

The new Corvette is going to have some marque makers lose sleep. I love my Vette but this one very well might persuade me to put one in the garage. I impatiently await reviews and track times.
