Candy

Between this any my Funyuns thread, you guys probably think I'm a child.

My wife says the same. But I promise I'm in my 30s and have multiple white hairs on my head.

Anyway, I'm over here chomping down on a piece of Lindt Cookies n Cream chocolate bar - first time I've had this and I have to say, it's goddamn phenomenal.

Other candy bars I enjoy are snickers - and this candy bar that isn't sold in normal US grocery stores for some odd reason - a Crunchie bar. It's like this honeycomb interior covered in chocolate and I absolutely love it. First time I had it was in Canada and now anytime I go there I make sure to bring an entire box of them back.

My favorites as a kid were Curly Wurly and Turkish Delight.
I can feel my teeth rotting as Turkish Delight is spoken.

Used to have Crunchie bars as a kid. We used to suck the chocolate off and then let the honeycomb dissolve in our mouth.

Oh you Canadians with your good selection of convenience store candies....

I've had Turkish Delight, damn near finished half a box once. Good stuff. But I have never had Curly Wurly (something I don't think is offered in the US).

So good!! My wife doesn't get my obsession with it. But it's that toffee taste with the chocolate and the overall crunchiness of it...

The TD in Europe is a lot different to NA. I believe Curly Wurly is European also.

Two words...Universal Yums.

https://www.universalyums.com/

My wife bought me a small box subscription to this several years back and we keep renewing, now with a larger box. Snacks of all sorts, including candy, from all over the world are delivered to your door every month.

There are so many candies I like from other countries than what we have here in the USA.

Just a thought for you snack and candy lovers.

Crunchies are great. The Australian version of it is Violet Crumble, which taste very similar and for some reason is far more readily available in the USA

I could eat dark chocolate until the cows come home. I make sure there is none in the house for just that reason.

I'll eat a bag of Jelly Belly Sours or Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers until I get canker sores, so I tend to only indulge on vacations or around Christmas. My girl gets me a giant bag of Riesen Chocolate Caramel as a stocking stuffer and they're usually gone in a few days. No control Haven't had one in a couple years but Milka had/has a Chocolate Oreo bar that was pretty damn good.

I've had so many favorites over the years, but my friend from Germany sent me some LachGummi's and they are now my very favorite. Interesting tastes, not so strong, super soft, just fantastic. Too bad I can't get them in the USA.

Lived in Germany as a kid and the Gummies are awesome there. These are some of the best I've had here in the States.

The stuff in the Crunchie bar is called sponge toffee. It is available at some grocery stores and Walmart. It's just not the same without that Crunchie chocolate coating though.

Hmmm yeah I think I'd need to chocolate coating.

Wonder if I should open up a shop dedicated to international candies

Can't make any promises...

So I have some sort coating on my teeth from when I was very young. But I haven't had a cavity in literal decades despite my candy obsession and not doing any special tooth care besides brushing my teeth.
