Found my first design flaw after 1 month...

It's funny now that I have it fixed, but this drove me nuts for a couple of days...

I started to notice a strange sound from what appeared to be coming out of the air vents whenever I accelerated or braked hard. It sounded like something was moving around in the dash. Turns out that a couple of coins fell out of my pocket while driving and found their way into the duct that runs air to the floor in the back seat. Every time there was enough force, the coins would move back and forth in the duct and the sound would resonate up through the dash vents. A half hour of fishing for coins with a toilet snake and coat hanger and my sanity has returned.

If you look at the air vents that are under the seats, you will see that they look like little troughs just waiting to consume coins, food, etc. BMW really should not have designed these to be open-ended and lower than the rest of the floor.

To think I was getting ready to call the dealer for loose change removal.....

if understand matters correctly, they are additional vents situated under the front seats, just like in the e46.

not sure why they are in the e90 considering that back seat passengers have their own adjustable heating/cooling ducts.

i hope i understood the original post.
