Hi all.
Does or has anybody had problems with the windows dropping half way down when unlocking and opening the doors? It happens sporadically, most of the time they drop an inch or so as they should. Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks. |

If you (accidentally) press the unlock button, on the fob, twice, then open the door, the window will drop half way. Otherwise with one press it'll only drop an inch.

Well, correctly explained before. It's a feature of our cars: comfort entry!

If it's an OE BMW battery take a look at the top of the Negative terminal and there should be a date code on it, anything much older than five years wouldn't hurt from having a replacement fitted. If you do have the battery replaced then don't forget to get it coded to the car. It'll work OK without being coded, but having coded makes sure that it charges correctly over time.

No problem, and don't worry about it, you don't know something until you find out!!

Check if there's anything blocking the window tracks or maybe a reset of the window controls could help. If the issue hangs around, a visit to the dealership might shed some light.

So If you have INPA software and obd cable you can check it. Of course there could be an odd case where new battery was not registered, but i think/ hope most owners know about registering it...
