Let's take this problem to a next level. I have all cables disconnected from trunk lid motor and I have roof down and you guessed right... Trunk closed.

So I havw 'ski hole' but the roof is down so I can not get access to the trunk lid motor.

So what the hell to do with it?

Please explain in detail, what you did before closing the lid?
Which cables/connectors were disconnected?
Please be exact in every detail, no guesses.

I have all five cables disconnected, so there is no cables connected to the trunk lid motor. Soft close was not working so removed the whole trunk lid lock part. Soft close microswitch cable has snapped. Fixed the cable and when installing whole lock back forgot to connect the wires before closing lid (I was tired and pissed off fixing it in the middle of the night).

Is the internal lid cover still off or did you re-mount it completely?

Thanks. We are brainstorming about it, as this is not so trivial.

Do you have the US emergency grip (yellow triangle) mounted in the boot lid?

Of course not. Otherwise this would have been too easy

Not sure if that could help.

Currently we are thinking about 2 options:
1) Drilling a big hole through the BMW emblem of the lid
2) Pushing the lid to one side of the car and mechanical lift the lid on the other side out of the 1st closing position

Just try option 2 at first.

I think I have the other side ok, because there is like 3cm / 1 inch gap and the trunk lid is moving up and down on that side. The other side has smaller gap and it's not moving.

Both fingers of the locking system hack into the metal brackets on both sides.

By pushing the lid aside, the first finger has slipped out of this holder on top of it. Now you can lift up this side for about 5-6mmm, then push the complete lid to the other side as well, then lift the lid.

Good luck.

Got it open. Had mirror with led-light on a stick and metal rod which I had to bent. Went through the 'ski hole'.
