Slightly annoying: Cannot use just the last-7 of the VIN for lookups anymore
I was checking for recalls and iDrive updates and looks like BMW is now asking for the full VIN instead of the last 7.
https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls.html https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html Not quite the end of the world, but now I need to fetch my registration or something to get the full 17 digits.

I’ve never had any part of my VIN memorized. I always get marketing emails from my BMW dealer’s service department with my full VIN at the very bottom. So all I need to do is find one of those emails and copy and paste.

You can enter your last 7 digits into a vin decoder and then you can copy and paste the full vin. Easiest that way if you dont have the full vin on you.

What can I say? I'm too incredibly lazy to memorize an extra 10 digits. I'd rather use that mental capacity to read my speedo and use my turn signal.

I just wrote all my VINs down on a Word .doc. I keep it on the desk top... cut and paste... Simple solution.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Just look at your insurance card instead. I have one in my wallet.
