Low and sleek profile with a high revving turbo/hybrid system is a winning combo.

Make a smaller v10 turbo please. 100th year celebration icon should be special.
The pure "M" model name was already taken by the M versions of the Z3 and original Z4, unfortunately.

How can that be true when the McLaren MP4-12C is one of the best supercars out with its TC V8?

It sounds good as long as they carry over as much carbon fiber and CFRP from the i8. I do remember reading that the i8 has a separate passenger compartment and shell. I wonder how that will play out in the M8 (if the vehicle is even on the table)

I feel like it would benefit them to offer it with forms of the V8TT and the V12TT. Being that even if this were greenlighted it wouldn't go into production for another 2 years, we will probably see some new engine choices

My heart doubles its size when I hear about BMW producing a super car, a la Ferrari 458 Italia. I really hope BMW is hearing its fans and see how badly we want it.

The Bmw 8er Coupe successor is the BMW 6er. For V12 , high performance M8? Look to the forthcoming Rolls-Royce Wraith.

It will be more expensive than i8, my best guess is around $225-250K fully loaded.

They should just make it with v12 period. The name should be M1 for heritage's sake and number 8 should be reserved for the mercedes cl fighter.

In 2016, I have a feeling that 600hp won't be much...
Isn't it the kind of figures you can get with a SC S65?

Let them build an m8. Can italdesign style it ala m1?? I don't want an i8 given fast and furious treatment.

By the time they build it, our mustache will grow long to the floor. But better late than never I guess.

A Rolls Royce is the exact opposite of what we want out of an M supercar, if BMW seriously thinks the Wraith and i8 count as supercars then it really has lots its way.

IF they ever build it, and judging by BMW's latest pricing strategy, it will probably cost $200K here in the US.
What does an R8 cost? A 458? Why are you surprised with $200k for a super car?

This all sounds great now.., but it's 3 years away. What will the competition be up to by then? If you ask me this is very late in coming and will have to be huge leap in tech/performance just to catch up.
