2018 UPDATE...GC LITE..FBO parts available.

So I did a thing...I'm going VTT GC LITE 2.0 this summer.

Here is quick build list:

VTT GC LITE 2.0
VTT silicon Inlets/ aluminum outlet
VRSF 7.5 inch race intercooler
N20 Tmap sensor
switch to MHD
updated dme as per BQ suggestion.

Power goal is 500-550whp daily, pending on 93 vs Dimitri's new ethanol maps.

I'm very excited to share this build with everyone, and I especially want to thank Dimitri from BQ Tuning, Chris from VTT, Tiago from VRSF, and fellow members Filippo and Asbjorn for helping to source the parts needed, and sharing info. Could not have gotten to this point with out their help and guidance.

All the vendors are stand up gentlemen and went out of their way to by reaching out to each other solely to help me, and I can't thank them enough. Really great customer service. Its easy for a vendor stay in their own wheel house and keep the blinders on to anything outside. Its good to see these guys coming together to help someone.

With my current setup with brakes, suspension, etc I feel this will be pretty epic build and ultimately an amazing driving experience.

I also want too put out a feeler... my current FBO parts will be available. The parts are all in good condition, and proven. No headaches from them what so ever. They are only being replaced due to the needs of GC Lites.

Cobb AP3(possibly)
VTT silicon inlets
Wagner EVO I intercooler

I'm not looking to make money off of them, but also not looking to give them away for free. If I can help a fellow member go FBO on a budget I'd be happy to.

Please shoot me a DM if you're interested.

Most likely I will update this build thread as parts arrive. Truthfully I expect install late May or possibly June...turbo upgrades ain't cheap lol.

Hey bud. I ended up not moving fwd on that project. It sounded like a ton of custom work was required to make it work. You installed it, no?

It is very possible the M4 dual HPFP will work on our E89 Z4 35i(s). It should bolt right up. Since the M4 vacuum pump and the dual HPFP base is one unit it directly replaces our current vacuum pump.

I need to get me inlets out of the way first though

Is this an aftermarket thing made for the M4 or is this an OEM part?

Man its been hectic. My shop was backed up with a ton of work, end of race season so everyone one was there getting work done to squeeze in one more session.

All parts are but I've been having coolant leak issues. We changed a hose, and tightened a drain plug which lasted about a week or so. It looks like "control sleeve " ( what bmw calls it) needs to be replaced.

I've also had a Vanos code pop up twice.

Here at the shop now getting everything fixed so I can get back to data logging.

One last bit...the walbro 525 draws too much voltage which throws a code when I'm in boost. We changed the wire from fuel pump to ekp to a high gauge, and swapped the fuse out. I need to find someone that can reprogram the ekp to accept the high voltage and I think we should be out of the woods. I believe for our needs a 25a fuse should do the job and still be within the limits of the ekp. Other forums have found this solution to work.

I just need to get through this rough patch, and get the flash to the point where the GC Lites are living to their potential.

To eliminate code, why not run Walbro pump through relay feeding high
amperage to pump from battery and using line from ECU to activate relay. That way no high amperage signal to ECU.

The relay was the original plan. But after installing the relay the car ran like crap and more codes showed up. We think that since the e89 doesn't have a lpfp sensor the ekp needs to read info directly from the fuel pump. The relay prohibits that.
