This exercise is 100% orthogonal / mutually exclusive with anything aspiring to "Sheer Driving Pleasure". Not in the same universe as "The Ultimate Driving Machine".

BMW is sooooooooooo yesterday. Unless one aspires to a Prius at 4X the price.

German cars (Porsche excluded) have raised the bar on Boring. ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz...

I miss the Albert Biermann / Bob Lutz cars. They designed and sold cars that established the marque. They must be laughing out loud over drinks.

WTF? The mind boggles. The best designers at BMW worked for months and this is the best they could come up with??

Plus, what's up with all the pink?

I actually like the grille. I don't know why you hate it so much. Could see it as a potential replacement for my i3 down the road!

Jeez, you know how a lot of times you look at a production car and wish it was more like the concept? I'm hoping the opposite is true with this thing. The Germans need to start drinking less at work. Or more...I forget how it works with them.

It's too bad it looks like this, because there's some cool tech in this thing. It seems clear that as we get into more electric cars and self-driving cars, they will have the thinnest possible headlights and the biggest possible grilles. Unfortunately for BMW, the kidney grille is not as well suited for this as Audi or Lexus. I think we will look back on these designs and think they look silly. BMW could have been on the right side of history and kept a more classic/timeless look, but it appears they will not do this.

This is the first time when I REALLY wish that the concept dies or will not become a reality.

A bucket please....

While I appreciate the lineage of the BMW grille I do feel like the proportions seem exaggerated a bit here ... Small but distinctive headlights are entirely overwhelmed by the large grilles (which from the limited content in this video, seem to be non-functional).

I do have to say that the over all concept is great although I do not look forward to the everything is a SUV future. I do however understand that in order for BMW to stay relevant in this self-driving car future, they will need to invest in more than the ultimate driving machine. Luxury, brand perception and technology will become the biggest differentiators in the "car drives itself" future. They can't afford to miss that bandwagon.
Sensors and cameras in the front will undoubtably make the kidney grill functional.

Is that the best the BMW designers could do???

I've seen better designs from kindergartners.

Range 250 miles - well it is better but you know next car will be double so... gonna feel pretty dumb rolling in it in 3 years. Or not. looks cool and futuristic, especially if you spec it NOT in pink.

I'm not sure what scares me more... The styling of this vehicle; or its mission.

Again, the innovations are impressive and I hope some of them make it into a production vehicle.

Overall a very pleasant concept. Very futuristic and clean.
