Upgrade my Navigation

I have a 2011 Z4 and found my Navigation version to be 2010. I'm ready to upgrade. I was looking at shopbmwusa.com and found a 10 CD set for $199.

I thought I saw somewhere where it was only a 3 CD set. Does anyone know if I'm looking at the correct upgrade? It shows part #: 65902339013.

I haven't found a cheaper price yet and I really don't like making a purchase like this from ebay.

Isnt the nav hard drive based? There no CDS for my euro spec 2011 35iS. Have all of Europe on my car. Friends older 3 series though he has to swap out CDs when he enters france...Very annoying.

If I'm not mistaken, just because it's HD based doesn't mean it isn't upgraded via CDs. It just means the maps are stored in the HD (uploaded from the CD) as opposed to your friends 3 series, where the maps are stored in the CD and not stored in the HD and therefore requires changing of discs for different maps.

In regards to the OPs question, I'm not really sure, but if you're paying MSRP why not just bring it to the dealership to ensure everything works correctly? Don't want to brick your Navi (has happened from other forums I followed due to incorrect installation. It all seems very trivial but...)

In essence, you can either buy the DVDs/USB stick or download the maps and then buy the FSC code (enabling code) from either the dealer or a private source.

Some people have had to upgrade their Idrive software before upgrading their nav maps so you way want to verify your Idrive version before hand.
