Not sure why you guys "converse" with Yingaling?

He has a severe case of TDS with no cure.

I believe he and everyone else has learned from the earlier mistakes. That is way everyone is taking it 100% seriously now.

Your just here to argue not to actually have a conversation. Trump was wrong I agree but Trump has also done a lot of good things since then.

I don't see anyone saying 1.5 to 2 weeks.
Sounds like a proper metaphor:
“This is not a sprint my friends, this is a marathon,” Cuomo said. “You have to gauge yourself, you have to understand this is going to be a long-term situation … It is our new reality. It is a shocking new reality. But there is no easy answer.”
Keeping a positive mindset in these QRNTN days, just because. Looking ahead to the 'afterlife' of them dark coronavirus times. Another Donald: "We've got provisions and lots of beer | The keyword is survival on the new frontier | Confess your passion, your secret fear | Prepare to meet the challenge of the new frontier".

Anyone who believes this is 1-2 weeks isn't paying attention or is delusional. This is going to be months unless someone comes up with a vaccine. Simple math shows that the incubation period vs the time for the infection to run its course and the risk of a secondary outbreak means months of social isolation.

All for a 0.66% kill rate and even that’s probably high, I hope the folks in charge realize soon what they’ve done. Nearly all government work is nonessential, shut these fuckers down and lay them off. See if things change in a hurry then.

Passed by many of my favorite restaurants and stores this afternoon while driving around. Two had “Permanently Closed” signs on them in big bold letters. This is in an affluent area of St. Louis as well, I knew the folks who ran the places and they were great people. Their businesses and economic lives now are destroyed, such incredible sadness. I can’t even imagine what this shutdown is going to do to countless communities.

Not even two weeks in yet and the destruction is clear, two more months of this nearly the entire economy will be devastated.

You see where this is going as the matter is so fluid. About a week ago, Cuomo said NYC wouldn't see the peak until late April or May. Then a few days ago he said mid April. I wouldn't be surprised if he says 7 to 10 days now.

In live in Kansas City on the Kansas side. We were one of the first to close schools for the rest of the year, we closed restaurants/theaters/etc and public gatherings on 3/16, our county went into lock down on 3/24 for a whopping 30 days. To date, we have 371 cases and 8 deaths in KS. Between my huge circle of friends and family, the ONLY person we know that has the virus is my 74 y/o mom. This includes lots of friends and family in WI, NC, and GA too. Weird.
NY peaks April 9. That is state-wide, not the city/boroughs.

KS peaks later in the month.

See the model I posted above https://covid19.healthdata.org/projections and click on the drop down to see the states.
I peaked in the mid 90s. Man those were good times.

Fucking broken record you are.

We have two choices: lose our healthcare system and our economy or lose our economy.

To avoid any possible misunderstanding: with my comment quoted below, I definitely subscribed to the statement made by Gov. Cuomo, rather than the opposite ! The comparison with a marathon (metaphor) seems proper to me.

As also reflected by my previous posts, IMHO the current situation in the US looks grim. We all got to face the reality and deal with it. And it's gonna take time. Trust what Dr. Anthony Fauci says (he got wisdom, knowledge, experience, integrity and good intentions) and the messages that he repeatedly tried/tries to get across. Heed his advice. This ain't no drill situation - this is for real. And it's massive.

Also for family reasons, already since several weeks I closely follow the drama unfolding in Northern Italy: one of the richest regions of the country (Lombardy) with a very good healthcare system struggling to manage the COVID-19 situation. This hits home hard for me. And based on what's witnessed in Northern Italy, we had an idea of what awaited the US if no global package of tight measures was immediately imposed at an early stage: a major healthcare problem with a magnitude unprecedented in recent times. Fasten your seatbelt, breathe and don't let thoughts be clouded by misinformation or panic.

So please do not confuse the word 'metaphor' with an antonym.

And who's gonna switch mantras and bitch non stop about how trump ruined the economy once this is in our rear view? Same people saying hes not doing enough right now and too focused on the economy would be a safe bet.

If Trump takes credit for an economy he did not help create, then why not blame Him for an economy in ruination? The man has no accountability or credibility.
